Pilot: Takakashi Yoshino
Title: First Entry
***BEGIN AUDIO LOG***
“Ohayou gozaimasu or good morning. My name is Takakashi Yoshino and this my first log as captain of this ship…
Captain… captain… it sounds funny. Can you be a captain of a taraibune, a small Japanese tub boat, in the middle of the ocean? Maybe pilot then... I digress, this is my first time in a ship of my own and I am unfamiliar with this procedure.
What to say, where to begin?
*Heavy Sigh*
Well I want to become a professor at Cambridge in the Liberty System. Although there are some great universities in the Kusari House none are as prestigious as the Cambridge hub where all great minds seem to think. The place fascinates me with all its wonder and knowledge.
Besides the badge of honor that I would carry with me by becoming a professor there, what makes me the most excited are the students that attend there.
Hai, that is my true endeavor. I don't just want to teach, I want to lead. I want to lead these students on paths that will open doors of opportunities for them, for they are our future.
These students shall go on to wage wars and end wars, give hope when all is hopeless, move mountains one stone at a time. That is my true belief.
Unfortunately, the roll of professor does not come easy in Cambridge. The Board requires a credible thesis page be submitted and voted upon by the current members and they don't except just anyone.
I've had a few ideas but they do not feel in depth enough to past the Boards critical judgment. Iie, I need to do something hands on. I need to find something that no one has discovered yet and prove without a shadow of a doubt that it is true.
I made a few calls and used a little of the money that I had to get a ship but unfortunately the cheapest one that I could find was being sold in the Pennsylvania System.
So here I am, my first time piloting a ship around the Pennsylvania System updating the Nav-Map since it is a new ship. I must say it is exhilarating, although a bit more complicated than the books made it sound. I almost decompressed my ship by flying into an asteroid belt.
My first move is to upgrade this ship into a freighter so I will have enough cargo space for all of the equipment that I need for excavations.
I have an idea as to what I want my thesis to be about of course but I need more resources to make an attempt at solving the complex puzzle set before me. The great mystery that has eluded us all actually. What exactly happened to the Dam K'Vosh? Why did they just vanished off of the face of the universe? If I could prove definitively what happened with my own hands, now that would turn some heads back at Cambridge.
Anyway that is a long way off for now. First and foremost I need more credits in the bank before I can truly do anything. So until I get a ship upgrade, or unless something interesting happens, this will end my first log. Sayonara, or goodbye, for now.”
