So to start, this kill was totally within RP. I don't have any question that killing the trader was the right move to make. If I broke the rules, consider this post self reporting and I will take whatever sanction fits.
On to the specifics.
I am on my AFA bomber and finally, finally, finally!!! I get a synthfoods faction ship under my guns. He wasn't carrying synthpaste or gel (booo) instead he had nanocapacitors. Now, he tries to run, I do my thing and get hm stopped. I start to go into my Farmer "Synth so bad" rp and he kinda gives me a "hurry up, I'm on the clock just tell me what to pay" response. Which is fine, if that's his character, that's his character, but the predictable reaction from my extremist farmer was, of course, to blow him out of space. Which I did. YAY FARMER KING! GOT A SYNTH!!!! But here is the thing, looking at the current FA ID wording I am worried that I may have broken the rules.
Here is the FA ID
Quote:Pilot carrying this unlawful ID is a member of the Farmers Alliance, who:
- Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports. Ships belonging to Samura are exempted from this.
- Can demand cargo and credits from any ship within their Zone of Influence, and attack them if they do not comply. Ships belonging to Samura are exempted from this.
- Can attack Synth Foods anywhere.
- Can treat any ship carrying Synth Paste or Synth Gel as combat targets.
- Cannot ally with any lawfuls except for Samura.
- Cannot use any transports with more than 4,300 cargo.
Zone of Influence: Kusari, systems directly bordering Kusari, Lyonnais
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats
I have noted the segments that are giving me trouble. So it says I can attack Synthfoods anywhere, I assume that means Synth ID'ed ships. It doesn't specify that I can treat their transports as combat targets. From what it sounds like to me, I can pirate Synth anywhere in Sirius, but ships with Synthpaste or Gel can be attacked without a demand. It is not clear from these rules whether Synth ID's transport ships can be treated as combat targets.
I may have broken the rules, but this ID should be clarified.
To me, or at least in my eyes, "Can attack X anywhere" just literally means the basic RP amount is needed and you can just go fight anything of said faction.
The other one though used to be very confusing to me. But nowadays I am in the train of thought that if a ship carries Synth Paste or Synth Gel then they are pretty much in the same boat as the people whom you can attack anywhere.
Just like the others said, the "can attack [faction name] anywhere." line isn't limited by ZoI or class, if it's an empty synth ID transport, you can use your farmer to kill it in the deepest corner of Gallia, if you even got yourself into that bizzare situation.
The only time transports are excluded from ID line are when it's written "can attack ships, excluding transports" type of stuff.
