There are currently two very interesting plans in preparation phase, but one is going slowly and the other is not going anywhere at all.
Rheinland is having problems with activity, but a push into Omicron Xi, against the Corsairs or whoever, was planned. Unfortunately the RM HC doesn't exist any more. Perhaps the indies could have some influence? In its absence, maybe the push should be ordered by the Bundestag, and performed by the indies until the officials are back on their feet?
Secondly, Gallia has the problem of having no allies. They are currently working on some deal with the Corsairs, but it is going slowly. Now imagine the massive pews that could be had in, for example, New London if it was realized, with multiple factions on each side. Perhaps it should be completed before the GRN become RM Mk 2.
Change the title of the thread into something less generic. This is too important of a thing to leave as a generic title and not have people click on when they over look it. I almost did.
Especially with Indies, they will just ignore the post and keep on reading.
It's currently a mess, RM is dead, completely, shows no activity whatsoever and the HC as you said is non-existent, same goes for DHC- their HC is also completely gone, no activity on forums or ingame at all. While Kruger can still keep its head up the HC there is also completely wasted which might actually be solved if @Legionnaire gets access to the Banks etc and we build a new HC. The Unioners seem okay-ish but RFP is also pretty dead, the only lawful Rheinland faction that is active is the BDM, Hessians are also pretty silent, most of thos eproblems can be solved by putting active members or willing members in a HC position or giving them the possibility to act on their own, Rheinland used to be in a decent status, it really doesn't need to be like it is now.
The Bundestag should indeed act and I mean really hard.
@nOmnomnOm Thanks. I thought that could be a problem, but I don't like giving too much importance to things of my own when talking with other people. Name changed.
@Shelco I'm aware. @Legionnaire and I made an indie RM battlegroup a few minutes ago. There are currently 7 of us in it. We are called the Kampfgruppe Schwerin, tagged [KGS], and will raid Omicron Xi at around 19:00 UTC today.

RFP is less active recently but definitely not dead, careful with that. Unless you consider any faction with less than 40 hours logged per month as "pretty dead". Generally, this development (or better said decline) of Rheinland was kind of expected by part of Rheinland players due to several reasons, but I´m not going to derail this thread and start possibly flame war here by explaining them in detail.
Anyway, the Omicron assault thing was planned so it should not be difficult to execute it technically. Only problem is that if there is lack of RM HC, it is difficult to roleplay anything if there won´t be anybody to act on behalf of them. Omicron campaign would have been done long time ago, but RM leadership was actually against as they had different plans. Though it is not all solving solution, as you need things to shoot there. If no hostiles will show up, it won´t help much. Still better than nothing, of course.
@Thunderer Would not be better to join RM and try to revive it instead of making indie group? Just asking.
Would be better to join the RM, if there was anyone to accept me. But there is no HC, and I can't just march in and claim I'm the new HC. I'll join if the KGS manages to revive the RM, and I advise all the KGS to do the same.
To be honest, if Rheinland's lawset wasn't as restricting just like Kusari's, I'd go there more often. The problem is, everytime I'd go there, I'd break laws simply by insisting on being able to cloak there. On the other hand, the times I was there, with quasi-legal ships and layouts, or when I just didn't give a ferk, it was really rare to encounter RFP. Like, of the recent nine month, I can cound the RFP encounters on one hand. However, it was always quality delivered, especially with Burning and Skynet.
Anyway, I'm a fan of any change in Rheinland. BDM and UN are actually doing a good job already, RFP as well when they log, but they definitely need more reason to log in Rheinland, just like in Kusari.
EDIT: Yes, I know you can ask for permission about this and that, but from what I've seen, visitors have to ensure they have no cloaking bats on their ships even when they have the permission. So I'dn't bother.

RFP was always small faction, so we never had days of activity like some factions have.
Regarding cloaks - that´s because we still prefer to treat cloaks as they were meant to be - as some highly regulated high-tech device which can be used only by trusted parties because it can be easily abused for illegal actions (not to mention that these things are manufactered with use of materials of nomad origin). After all, originally they were meant only for limited amount of factions (militaries, intelligence factions, The Order or The Core) as their state of the art tech. Unfortunately ingame it ended up as common thing which every regular Joe can buy in nearest department store if he has money like it is just some cool car tuning part.
No need to justify. It's just that, compared with Liberty and Bretonia, Rheinland and Kusari have rather limiting law-sets. While I can't speak for everyone, all I can say it's basically the reason why I don't visit Rheinland and Kusari often. In the end, it could be a factor about why people don't visit certain areas, though.
