If you require evidence, you may request such via PM from a Staff member. Only the accused or an official faction leader of the accused person's faction may request such. Once you have the evidence, and if you wish to dispute it, you may post in the Sanction Thread below. Do not continue PM'ing a staff member, as that will result in your Appeal being denied. If you PM a staff or post in the sanction thread and you are not directly involved, you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbors, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of Admin Right #CTE 750AE
If you watch the video you'll see the lines I dropped before shooting, there was well over a 10 second delay between both lines. This sanction is false and should be reverted.
Also this happend a while ago, why proccess it incorrectly now?
The sanction is fine, as is pretty visible that you just started shooting right after you uncloaked and dropped that last message. This does not qualify as 'reasonable time to react to hostilities'.
Uh, I dropped both the messages while cloaked, waited a second and then decloaked and engaged. There's no rule that states you have to RP while uncloaked and the minimum time between the first line and when you engage is 10 seconds. There was well over a 10 second gap. He attempted to cruise 3 times in the video if you look closely, he had plenty of time to react to the situation and he did. It's completely reasonable, every instance of a battleship decloaking on another battleship and engaging it has occurred exactly like this. If you want examples I can dump my entire youtube channel in this thread, this sanction is false and should be reverted.
Further adding that if you watch the video, the person who recorded tipped off the battleship that was decloaked upon about a cloaked ship nearby. He actually attempted to cruise a few times before I even got in range.
Rule 3.6 Wrote:- Ideally at least 2 sentences of RP before engaging, with a minimum of 10 seconds before firing from your first RP message. Just RP, and make sure the opposing person has enough time to respond
The first line was dropped 19 seconds into the video, he attempted to cruise 3 times before I dropped the next line 31 seconds into the video which is a 12 second difference, I started firing after the final line at 35 seconds.
Time between when I dropped the first line and when I fired the first shot is 16 seconds, that's well within the rules and this should be reverted please.
I'm not the reporter, just the unfortunate bloke that got buttcloaked. I've just watched the video and it appears that the Durango dropped a line at 0:13, and then another one at 0:33, when he fired at me. The rule explanation thread says for 3.6:
"- Ideally at least 2 sentences of RP before engaging, with a minimum of 10 seconds before firing from your first RP message. Just RP, and make sure the opposing person has enough time to respond"
@Wesker dropped 2 lines and gave me 20 seconds to react. I don't know who and why reported him, and I don't see any basis for a sanction here. I myself am butthurt, yes, but that's because my butt had the full armament of a Liberty Dreadnought unloaded at it from close range, which is not against the rules. I had killed the ship a few times before, though, so this is somewhat of a balance.
The issue here is that the ship in question was cloaked when it RP'd. There is no way for the person that is about to be attacked, to know that he will be attacked for certain within the next 10 seconds after it sees the first message, as the RP might as well be directed at another person withing local chat range. As such RP while being cloaked does not really qualify here.
Which leads us back to the reasonable time before hostilities, as that is not given when you uncloak and instantly unleash hell after dropping some lines of chat while being cloaked.
