Quote:It should be noted at this point that clique-squabbling is something we are getting tired of. The reports directed sch groups take up more than half of all processed sanctions per month and most of it is just petty stuff. This will soon end one way or another, so we as a team suggest you people start improving relations yourself before you are forced to. This message is directed not only to AFC and Aux.
I'm offering, seriously, a mediator-channel for all the issues people have with each other, because some of those have become very harmful to the overall communities health.
Volunteers for moderating those channels are welcome.
Otherwise, what you guys think, as a community, about having such so people can address their problems with others?

I can promise I'll look at any case you bring up from a neutral perspective. If you believe that or not, is up to you though.
But we've come to the point, and nobody can deny that, where Cliquelancer became that evident that there's hardly a chance anymore to have those contradicting views come down to a common denominator.
+1 to the idea of a couple of people trusted by the admins and community to help mediate these things when the groups can't handle it themselves. The admins really shouldn't have to get involved in this type of stuff.

On the matter of Moderators, I'd like to see them actually handling the forums and not just being "there" or being a step-stone to an Admin position. Moderators should make the rules for the forums and those rules should override Admin posts when it comes down to moderating the forums.
Admins = server
Moderators = forums
But that's something we'll likely never see with the greens not giving up their pivileges.
Otherwise, Forum-Moderators would be much welcome to moderate and mediate those channels, as that'll give those talks a more official note.
I agree, while Admins should not loose the mod abilities, they should not use them unless there is no other way. Mods are...well...kind of there but not really there.

I'd rather make a clear distinction. Moderators override Admins on decisions regarding the Forums, period. Admin decisions for whatever concerns the server are not Moderator business.
Moderators are like forum police, they make sure everything is kept orderly where Admins would be more like Judges applying rules and stepping in to way on heavier issues.
Anyway I don't know if a mediator would help in this case, its simply the fallout of the "Heavy Decision" strike. What was done may have been well intentioned but how it was done caused repercussions and this rift is probably one of many issues that have separated the teams. The only way to resolve these issues would be to have a higher power that could be turned to if conflicts arose, ideally voted in by members of both teams to help settle disputes and essentially keep the various powers divided yet cohesive. Well in theory that is.
