I had a very good day today. Plenty of people threw credits at me, with one trying to run away and hit the planet. What a stupid fella...
Oh well, but it looks like some Harris Syndrome kicked in. Underarmed and without any help, tried to run away in his transport. And ended up, knocking a crater onto Manhattan. I don't even know if the guy survived, but people so stupid are very hard to kill, even by the most skilled assassins.
But that, I won't even bother to check. If he's dead - there's plenty of fish in the sea. Plenty of credits to be extorted to serve my own purposes.
The ship of mine is small, powerful but feels like a drunk pig. It is not a freighter, so I'll have to discard any means of cargo looting, unless I hire another fella. Or, I'll ask some Junkers to get that Anki for me. Either way, I'm pretty pleased from this rusty little ship made by Renzu. So far, it fits my needs and haven't failed me once. Until it fails me, I'll fly that little piece of scrap.
I already feel in it like at home. A small rusty and tight home. Seriously, if I start to get claustrophonia, I'm getting a raider freighter. And paint the internal walls into a nice shade of red. Should fit my style. I simply like red.
The bloody-blood red.
It's getting late. Rochester's busy all the time like it was a damn bee's hive. But I can cope with that, shouldn't be as bad as Newport. Or at least, I hope so.
It reminds me that I need to strike some deals with Liberty Rogues. As far as I am concerned they don't like independent guys like me and even like to extort them... to pirate a pirate. Sounds pretty low, even for my own standards.
I have mixed feelings after this day. Sure, several guys got me a nice fees here and there. That's why I'm stuck to Liberty after all, perhaps banding up with these Rogues would do a trick.
For sure they are more legit than all these "Make Liberty Great Again" guys like Xenos seem to be.
Ah yes, Xenos. One of them sadly wrecked my vessel. Ah, too bad. I kinda got overzealous that I came out of many, very risky, incidents without any scratch. Well, except for a small paintjob time to time (as some traders are really dull and seems to suffer that damn Harris Syndrome). Especially that last DSE - Liberty Manufacturing or Fabrications, or some other odd Bretonian-inspired stuff - I came across and chased up to Los Angeles.
I was about to give his vessel a few holes after it had been running away, but then that cursed Xeno appeared. Oh right, hello-get-out-duh, yadda yadda. "Hurr, durr, leave my system" - he said! Well, excuse me! Rude!
Overestimating my small Touketsu, I entered a fancy duel which indeed was a damn battle of the nerves. Shaking. Jittering. Up and down, left and right, jinking around and try to take on his vessel. For sure I left him some scars, but the final shot belonged to him. I had to withdraw somewhere.
I'm damn happy that guy didn't have any Maxims on board, else my hull would be all but scrap. The hull needs some new plates nonetheless. Ouch.
So, with their kind being unwilling to do stuff with petty pirates (seriously, need to ask Rogues if they aren't up for some deal), I'll need to keep a low-profile for a day or two. It won't be hard, as my ship is more or less in a knocked up status. Junkers will be very happy to repair that ship for twice the price Zoners or other corporates would do.
Eh, whatever. Bang that hammer faster and finish my ship already!
