April 24th, 824 A.S. Isolation of Premium Material After the meeting between Doctor Erzie and General Heinrich, the pieces were in place, and a team was selected and stationed at the ready. Two-hundred strong, this elite team would deliver the best the Group could offer in the shortest amount of time. Though there was no actual rush, it was clear everyone moved with a sense of urgency, every action deliberate. James overlooked the efforts, with personnel moving to view all possibilities of improvement. The request was simple: Faster engines. However, this meant more strength to weight, which either means more thrust, or lower mass; or both. The Researcher's zeal was after the best possible.
Hull segments already utilized a very efficient alloy composition, so improving on this alone would be negligible. The armor of any spacecraft only holds about thirty percent of the total mass of the craft; in this case the Sabre. A typical Sabre weighs between 19,000 kilograms and 21,000 kilograms, and to get the speed and performance to desired levels, the weight would be limited to about 16,500 kilograms. This would mean that all hoses, hard-lines, structural skeleton components, and engine components would be forced to be optimized. Even with the maximum optimization, some refitting of the engines would also be required.
With the materials already moved on-site the day prior, the only limitation was manning. All hands moved to help wherever possible. A team of six ran the refinery, with additional maintenance personnel at the ready in any case of a malfunctioning component or part. Any discrepancies were quickly remedied as quickly as possible. Jobs that took two men hours were completed in a matter of minutes, with all documentation accomplished by support personnel so the grease monkeys had more time on the project. Once all was in place and ready, they began their trials of alloy composition. Although almost all crew present knew the science behind the creation of high-entropy alloys, this wasn't about making just the highest resilience material; weight was the biggest limitation.
May 1st, 824 A.S.
One week later, everything still functioning at maximum. The team has been working tirelessly for a week straight, one hundred men per shift, twelve-hour shifts that often stretched to fourteen with turn-over. A normal group of researchers and maintainers would've been beaten by now, exhaustion setting in, and stress toleration dwindling. Though this still occurred for the Group, the determination in their minds prevented them from lowering their quality of work. Life was the job, and that's all that mattered. The push was beyond the norm, and success here would be more than economically satisfying.
After several hundred trials, the optimal alloy was finally isolated. Using primarily titanium, at roughly forty-five percent, boron at thirty percent, and the remainder Iridium. Such was obtained from stockpiles already nearby at a small cost, but the addition was well worth finding the secret ingredient. With this known and ready to be produced from the kilns, the creation of these ingots was the next step. Once fabricated, every component on the craft was to be replaced and optimized, which would require additional supplies.
May 11th, 824 A.S. From Blood, Sweat, and Tears: Success Exceptional and extreme efforts were being made by all, reaching the peak of fatigue, the crews could only hold on for a day or so longer. Three weeks of solid work without a day off would wear anyone of weak spirit down to their wits end, and even the best available were still at the end of their ropes. Engineers and maintainers had been working solid to refit every component at the best of their abilities, every part being completely remade with only the best materials. Hoses were re-fabricated by metal specialists, each bent into perfect dimensions, and some even made more efficient in their length. Electrical systems were integrated even more so, each and every wire masterfully soldered and bundled. Circuit boards were re-programmed with minimal material requirements, and integrated as much as possible into relevant systems, with new options for optimization and customization at the power of the single pilot. Unused space was also utilized behind the pilot section, and with only the slight sacrifice of breathing room, engineers were able to make the egress system lighter overall with a change to the initiation sequence. Weapon channels were optimized, making power stems off of the main to recharge individual capacitors on each mounted weapon, keeping power drain efficient in all conditions, and power distribution more equal across all systems in high demand. The shield generator was further optimized, allowing more power to the engines during cruise operations. As for the scanning array, it found a new home at the nose of the craft, allowing for pinpoint locking and efficient scanning as the armor was thinnest at that point. All that remained was getting enough thrust.
The engines were, by far, the hardest challenge. The single-channel output system of the engines was light, but didn't produce enough thrust even with all components interchanged for their modernized counterparts. Fuel injection was already well optimized, however, the introduction of a second injection coil allowed the power core of the ship to also contribute to the burning process. MOX engines alone can produce both efficient and high-power output, however, at the cost of weight. Retrospectively, using the MOX system to maintain impulse speeds and an optimized H-fuel system to drive the cruise system, the primary impulse system would not be too heavy, and there would be enough added thrust together to allow for higher speeds to be maintained. Obviously drawing power from the internal generator core in the ignition process, the hybrid propulsion system would drive the new Sabre near interceptor speeds. Even still, the stress the engines put on the frame required additional supports to be installed, increasing the weight slightly, but not at the expense of significant maximum speed. With the necessary skeletal augmentations and secondary system installed the engine was remounted, and additional space was utilized for carrying fuel beyond the generator; the abomination of modern technology was finally ready to test.
May 12th, 824 A.S.
James appeared on scene to inspect the work he had overseen. He was both satisfied and impressed. Test results yielded thrust numbers far beyond expectations in cruise state, and the skeletal structure was more than capable of handling the additional stress. The only sacrifices made were in a slight change of the look, and a bit of money and materials... a lot of both. With Iridium stockpiles slightly depleted and all other resources on site consumed, the completion of the task was no ordinary feat. As the ship was lowered off its cradle, it rested on the pad, a sight for sore eyes for those who had dedicated their work to such a grievous project. For those who worked so diligently on this endeavor, they would see a bonus in their pay, as well as paid leave on the Sanctuary for the next month until they would return to their normal positions. The vessel would see a short test flight as it returned to the Capital, everything working well within expectations. With everything in place, the Doctor made his call to the General Heinrich, confident she would be satisfied.

The RHB-Baroarbunga roared through hyperspace appearing suddenly in the Northern Ice field in Omega-49. Upon their arrival, Anna Heinrich and two of her guards departed the vessel and made way through the now cleared system of Omega-49 to Gran Canaria. Anna felt very stiff while making the burn into the planets atmosphere, getting out of Stasis for a second time was quite taxing on her body, her hair felt like a helmet, as ice cold as her heart, and her white skin made her appear like a lifeless demon. Upon touching down on the landing pad she pulled herself out of the cockpit and dropped down. The cold air and snowfall masked her skin, as she walked forward towards the Zoner official at the landing pad her guards rushed up behind her. General, the Doctor requested your presence about the project.Lets not waste any time. She replied quickly and began to follow him to the office where the doctor was residing. Wait here. She told both the guards as she entered the office to find doctor Erzie looking optimistic. Doctor, I trust everything's been moving on schedule? Pondering his reply.
A gruesome and moderately unsettling smile was across the Doctor's face, disappearing for a moment as he sipped his tea. "We didn't stop working until we were done with our goals. Here, take a look for yourself." Using a small emitter, a clear image of the vessel in its current state was revealed. The emitter panned various schematic views with small numbers and statistics also available. "This is what I believe is the culmination of our abilities. When focused on research, it doesn't take long to deliver, however, a project of this nature, that required so many disciplines is entirely monstrous for a group such as ours." Revealing a display of engine testing, a beautiful cone of pure power forced the vessel to shake tremendously in its test cradle. As the vessel clearly attempted maximum capabilities, the engines roared, the air crackling under the tremendous force; the numbers finally being revealed. "Weighing approximately seventeen thousand kilograms, and all engines collectively producing seventy-four thousand kilograms of thrust, it is possible to achieve a cruise speed of four hundred twenty-five meters per second in low pressure conditions... Though your atmospheric safe speed would be around three hundred meters per second, so don't go too crazy." Turning off the diagnostic footage, James turned toward the window, looking out at the commotion in the city. "I'm sure you're eager to see it closer, so why don't we take a walk?" Walking toward the door, the Doctor opened it, welcoming his guest to join him at the hangar where the prototype rested.

Anna was in fact, VERY eager to see the finished prototype. She had spent a considerable amount of her own funding as well as that of the Army, mixed with time. Most of the time she spent off Weisbaden since the birth of her son, Isaak, was kept secret from the Oberkommando and the SOA. Anna wasn't intimidated by Oberkommando however, the fear of her own wrath and anger outweighed the Oberkommando's will to speak against her over something everyone agreed to be "minor". Stay here. She told her guards as she followed the doctor into the hangar bay. She needed to see the ship for herself, as well as mention another private agenda that was twice as important she needed to fulfill. As the pair entered the hangar bay Anna immediately walked at an improved pace towards the ship, studying it. Unnecessary plating removed, the aerodynamic improvements are noticeable just by looking at it, the engines have most certainly been tampered with in a positive manner. She circled around the ship taking in the beauty of its improved design and unyielding power. Thanks to your efforts and that of Tabakov the ship that has carried my father's legacy and my own is now one of the most powerful vessels in Sirius. She put her hand against one of the wings, feeling the smooth stainless steel with the back of her hand as she turned to face Doctor Erzie again. If there's anything else you need, do advise me now, because there is one final personal favor I need of you. Anna felt an ounce of hesitation with her words, she risked quite a bit by possibly hinting at her offspring, never mind that it was to someone she barely knew. Her eyes lit up blue in accordance with her racing heart as she listened very carefully for the Doctor's reply.
The Doctor put a significant amount of his weight on his cane, clearly exhausted from his own participation in the project. It was obvious he was working even beyond the schedule of those he supervised. "I appreciate the gesture to leave your escorts behind, even if it is just a requirement of privacy." James sighed and wiped some particulates from his eyes before gathering himself in a more proper posture. "At this point in time, there is nothing we truly need. Our participation in this last project was a demonstration of what we can accomplish as well as what we are willing to do for a friend." Looking down for a moment, the Doctor hesitated to reply to Anna's request, taking a short time to consider the offer. "I am a man of my word, and my allegiance is already placed. What ever you need, name it, even if it is personal." Clearing his throat slightly, James took a drink of water, waiting for what could possibly be asked of him.

Upon hearing his approval Anna shoved aside her hesitation, her need for Isaak's safety outweighed her fear of the Doctor possibly catching on. There's... a very important individual I need to be kept hidden. This planet seems like quite a safe haven for someone in need, even if I fear some conflict might come here temporarily. She paused for a second turning her head slightly back towards her ship. Education, safe environments, what regions of Gran Canaria offer those in the best quality? She looked back over at him.
Caught by surprise slightly from the request, James took a moment of careful thought. He had always found himself at the mercy of space itself to remain hidden and safe. Looking down at the floor once more, he spoke with a kindled intensity and sincerity. "Our organization's installations are shared with that of our counterpart organizations, and if attention is drawn to them for any reason, such a place would likely be unsafe. However, much of our culture is around education and discovery, so regardless of where you decide is ideal, schooling would be of nearly the highest quality until higher educations were pursued." A little disturbed upon reflecting on his own past and what was done for him, and failures of their efforts, he continued with his words with the utmost intention. "I don't know who you intend to hide, but if I considered where I would place myself, I would choose one of the industrial areas to the north. It may be cold, but I would put my safety and education first. The working class culture is also one of the most welcoming and helpful at that, which is invaluable." After short consideration, he eased up a bit, making a small sigh as he pondered through options. "There's a suburb south of the city where our refinement and manufacturing facility is located, about forty-five kilometers away, that may be perfect for what you need, though the weather has gotten quite a bit colder, the summers are still warm, and it isn't directly connected to any particular manufacturing assets. Some of my colleagues and subordinates live there, and find it quite lovely. I can introduce you to them if you'd like." With options out on the table, James only waited for General Heinrich's decision.

Living out a childhood in a blizzard? No, even if it was more safe, it wouldn't be healthy necessarily to grow up in such a high classed environment. The suburbs seemed like a better idea, they might rub off on Isaak for the better. Show me the suburbs of the city, and anything else you might deem necessary to know. She walked up towards him waiting to be escorted to the suburbs. Lævateinn, Dáinsleif, head back to the ships. Call a shuttle to move my Odin off planet. She told her guards as she approached him.
Motioning a hand out to the landing pad just beyond the hangar, James pressed a small button on his wristband, calling down a shuttle. As the shuttle touched down, the two boarded, grabbing hold of the ceiling mounted handholds. The Doctor clearly struggled a bit with his height, but got comfortable. "The place we are going is a bit out there. Probably an hour or so from here, so get comfortable." James took one of the seats at the sides of the shuttle, placing his cane a few feet away. "Hailport two. A bit of rough weather, but still close enough to many good schools. Warm summers, and plenty of room for activities. Creativity is the limit." Taking a short drink from a flask, James pondered a short while before continuing. "I hardly imagine one of your position would care about the work environment, but Hailport itself has plenty of opportunities for someone just starting to out." He stared off briefly toward the pilot and back again. "Regardless of money, I always thought a little hard work is good for character. Experience is a timeless teacher." Slightly worried that his hospitality would be dismissed through his disconnect of culture, he looked at Anna nervously for her reaction.
