Hey Vex, I cobbled this encryption algorithm together this afternoon while in orbit over Phoenicia. A girl's got to keep herself amused somehow while the repair routines do their thing! I hope you're able to read this...I'd rather stay away from known Order channels for 'heart to heart' sort of things.
Look, so I wanted to say thanks to you first off. You were the first to respond to my distress call and that counts for a lot, especially once I realised quite how far from home I actually was. Perhaps we can meet up some time on my ship when you're not busy (leaving my ship isn't really doable, at least not for now.) I do a great mojito!
I was wondering if you'd be okay to talk to me about a few things, just between friends because you're someone who speaks your mind. What you said about the Overwatch kind of bothers me, and there's a feeling that I can't shake now I'm back in the Omicrons, like things are about to turn nasty at any moment. I mean yes there's the obvious...only the other day my ship got attacked by Nomads in the drydock. I moved the ship away from the station shortly after but if I'm honest the attack was just an excuse.
I'm worried about the Overwatch. They did a wonderful thing getting me out of danger, and I'm hoping to get to know some of them, but they remind me of the Order of a older time, when I was just another tool in the arsenal against the Nomads. Curiosity is fine, and I'm fine with them asking questions and giving them technical data until the cows come home, but their technicians have already been more invasive than anybody before ever was. They even took off a some of my ship behind my back! I'm just worried they're going to end up dissecting me, or at least taking me away from the ship. I'm not the military sort, I don't really do orders, and the way things were we managed over time to come to a working arrangement. Now though, after Toledo, I don't know if the Overwatch has the time or the understanding for that.
Am I safe here Vex, as if I am not could I ask if you're okay to be on hand if things get sticky? Hope to hear from you soon!

Mia.
I won't lie. Seeing the Overwatch actually come through with their promise and actually getting you back home was impressive enough. Normally they don't even go past what they say to actually justify it. They just spew words and expect it to count for something. However, this doesn't mean that they're finally learning. Maybe it was just to spite me.. hmm...
Either way, what they're doing is a classic tactic. Even I've done it at times, but only minimally to keep myself focused.
It's the tried and true technique of gaining someone's trust and then taking them for all their worth. That ship of yours is probably a gold mine for them, since most records of what we had were lost on Toledo. I'd say it's not like them, but they do this with such regularity that I'm hard pressed if they even know what the Nomads are anymore.
Truth be told, I absolutely hate the Overwatch. The idea of one man having complete power over every single person in the cause, power that is woefully misused, and him using it to practically 'make an empire for himself' is just an insult to everything that Casper Orillion and myself stand for. There are some decent bits of it, namely the organization of it all keeping people together and the research being done to help counter the nomads, even if it's primary objective is to defeat the Core, but it's all overshadowed by the overall truth that all Golanski wants is to be king of something.
I know I'm just filling your head with piles of belief and propaganda, but considering the guy has the audacity to order his men to fire on assisting Core assets, who didn't even fire the first shot, I'm just going to keep spewing until he falls from overburden.
Sorry, but when I hear the word 'Overwatch', I get so fumed up. Their disregard for their own code is an insult to everything I believe in.
But, yeah. If you wanna meet, then I'm cool with that. I was actually planning on asking you how things were and planning a meeting anyway, so thank you for saving me the time. I'm really curious about your life back then, since I was only a teenager when Toledo was destroyed.
Take care, Mia. If you need anything, you know who to call. I may not be as resourceful as the Overwatch, but at least I know where my loyalties lie.
Hey, well I should be good to move the ship out to Akabat or somewhere a little less stuffy in a couple of days, so let's definitely have a get-together. We've been told to change the ship prefix a bit, but as I've not seen any other liner-type ships around here, it should be obvious which ship is mine!
I won't harp on about the Overwatch too much as I'd much rather talk about topics that we can both enjoy, but they seem to be treating me fairly so far, given me and Guardian the keys to a few things and seem to be content to give me a bit of freedom locally. That's good, it means I can work on a few personal science projects in peace and get myself up to speed on stuff at my own pace, plus I can go to where I'm needed, and knowing the Order, everyone is needed. I'm just not the stay-at-home home type! Still, if they push things...well...we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I'd rather work on the assumption that we'll all ultimately get on like a house on fire, but I'll keep an eye out for the warning signs.
Gosh, the time before Toledo...there's so much to talk about. I was a teenager too, though admittedly that's a little misleading; I was 'set' to be, (I don't know, 'programmed' just isn't a term I like very much) and in fact I'm only four if you go by counting years, but I remember a fair bit, and I am not so scatter-brained as to have forgotten the little details either!
Anyway, I should get back to fixing the ship. The sooner it's fixed, the sooner I can go. Actually on the note of 'going', is the nearest Freeport (I think it's in Delta if memory serves) safe for Order ships? I've noticed one or two Zoner articles that suggest it might be a little contested.
Thanks again Vex, hope you're safe and well and making the squids feel sorry for themselves!

Mia.
It's a little understandable that they tagline for the Aaru wasn't up to Golanski's 'par'. Honestly, I don't think she'd class as a true combat vessel, so maybe it's for the best.. Regardless, she's your ship and in the end he can't take that from you.
Anyway, I'm a little skeptical coming to Akabat for a meet-up considering my clear dislike of the Overwatch, but maybe that's just me being paranoid. I'll head that way when you and yours are ready, and we can get up and maybe have a drink together. I'm interested in knowing what you remember from back when, since everything we know is from what anyone remembered, which honestly wasn't even that much..
I'll see you then, Mia. If not at Akabat, then anywhere else is fine. I'm not against editing my schedule for a friend. Maybe Freeport 11 in Delta (yeah, that's the freeport you're thinking of). The Zoners are our allies.. loosely.. but we're always welcome there.
