The MNS Saint Mark's construction lasted over eight months as the first of the very few Sarissa-class battleships to come out of Venice Shipyard. A state-of-the-art piece of Maltese war technology, the Saint Mark was commissioned in 822 A.S. under one Niccolò di Lupia, a renowned mercenary pilot, was chosen as her captain.
Before Saint Mark, di Lupia made his credits by selling off his services to protect Cardamine shipments going to the colonies. However, as many suspected, just mercenary contracts weren't enough to afford the favours of the Maltese governing families. Tangled in a web of internal competition, the families hadn't noticed that di Lupia borrowed large sums of money from many different families in secret from one another and bribed them to attain their support for their votes. With a skill for 'playing the courts', di Lupia managed to get himself chosen as the captain of the new Maltese battleship.
Shortly after Saint Mark's deployment, and as soon as demands for repayment of his debt to the families started reaching di Lupia, the ship along with its captain and crew disappeared for several weeks. Rumours of a Sarissa being seen in the nebulas of Coronado and Sigma-13. di Lupia put his network of contacts gathered during his time as escort, gathering his mercenary army from freelancers and bounty hunters found in the Border Worlds.
Within several months of hunting petty bounties from many different factions, the group of mercenaries around di Lupia began to grow in numbers and wealth. The Saint Mark became an important and useful asset. Often hidden away in nebulas or asteroid fields, it was the perfect mobile base for hit and run attacks against specific targets. di Lupia also occasionally ordered attacks against Maltese Cardamine transports in order to replenish their own supply.
Eventually, the balance of power on Malta shifted enough for his old debts to no longer matter and with his newfound mercenary allies, he was nearly untouchable by whatever remained of his old creditors. He extended his network towards Malta, to Outcast pilots and cartels, offering the former protection and money and the latter lucrative contracts by experienced escort pilots. That was also the time when the name of his organisation, Serenissima, started being used.
Now back in Maltese space, Serenissima became more powerful than ever. While still comparatively small in numbers to other Outcast groups, the self-styled condottieri of Serenissima are a force to be reckoned with, mainly to do with their previous experience, knowledge of the Border Worlds and unparalleled mobility. There even are rumours of di Lupia planning to take over a part of the Cardamine-trading market, but these are just speculations. What remains established, though, is Serenissima's reputation as the Sirius's highest earning unlawful mercenary group.

Just so you're aware: Outcast lore has it that Venice is the construction hub for Outcast-built and used transports and civilian infrastructure, while Valetta and Corsica construct the Nazione's light and heavy capitals respectively(usually, anyway. Iirc both are capable of doing each-other's jobs), as well as fighters and freighters.
Do with that information what you will.

So as to assist in not derailing the thread further:
Glad to see more activity is making it's way north. Glad to know already based on our initial conversation that cooperation with establish factions is being emphasized- always good to hear and see.
More faction means more RP all around, which is always a good thing~<3

Colour scheme feels a bit bland, as does the formatting. A section to explain what the faction is gameplay/roleplay wise would also be good. Maybe giving it a bit more meat like a ranking structure (it's not necessary though) might also be an idea. Looks fine otherwise.
