I've chosen to reply to your application transmission, in part to spare you the likely lecture from Klugmann along the lines of "there was never anything more than an ephemeral democratic process under the Federal Republic". That said, we do attempt to welcome a diversity of viewpoints and perspectives among us, and one need not fit the scornful stereotype of a "radical college student" to be a valued compatriot within the Bundschuh movement.
The Platform approves your application. You'll be briefed on present directives and situations, and we'll add the Ymir to both the maintenance queue and "crew wanted" classifieds. I personally suggest seeking out "CIvil Servant" as someone to work with, your background and his specializations may synergize quite effectively.
Personal History:
I enlisted in Rheinland's military as soon as I was of age. It was expected of me, as my father already had an established career there and while we never did see much eye to eye, I obliged, as no other promising civilian career paths presented themselves, especially for one brought up in military academies.
After completing basic training I spent some years stationed in the Hamburg front fighting against the Unioneers while I pursued further training in heavier craft. Truth be told, at the time I was chasing merits and qualifications that would get me moved away from the main branch so I may cut ties with my family, who had grown increasingly involved and overbearing.
When the civil war began I left Hamburg to join with the Republican effort. The things I witnessed then ... changed my outlook on many things. I found it difficult to return to normalcy after the sham of a reconciliation that followed. I saw in the Bundschuh a group worth lending my skills to, and now, in the Platform, even more so.
Skillset:
Competent flying logistics ships and snubcraft
Competent handling ground-based military hardware up to and including heavy artillery
Competent with military survival tactics and military camp routine logistics tasks
Why would you like to join The Platform?:
Because I share its beliefs and goals and have witnessed firsthand its dedication to them.
In your own words, what is your understanding of the Platform's goals and structure?:
To rid Rheinland of its imperialistic blight and of the corporations who stoke it for their own greedy desires, to uproot the structures that perpetuate mindless bloodshed so the people may finally be free. Free to associate with one another without the impositions of the wealthy or the spiteful, in a spirit of pure cooperation, as I believe the Platform does.
Do you have any prior and/or current employment or affiliations? If so, do you expect retaliation for leaving these affiliations in favor of the Bundschuh?:
I have previously served under Rheinland's military but I believe I was of far too low a rank to be targeted for retribution, and even if so, there is nothing they could take from me.
Are you submitting this application on behalf of a larger ship? (i.e Gunship, Transport, etc) If so, we will relay this same application to other assenting crew:
No.
Do you (and those you speak on behalf of) have a cardamine dependency? If so, are you/they willing to use stabiline in the event of a local cardamine shortage?:
No.
Are you interested in joining an established Cell (i.e. Gloaming Flotilla, Damnatio Memoriae) or forming another? Partisan Independence is also allowed:
Not interested in joining a cell for now.
Is there any other pertinent information you would like to add to this application?:
No.
A genuine pleasure to be able to read your application; we've seen your spaceborne efforts prior to now and are grateful for having had the privilege of receiving them. Your application is approved.
Of course while a "spirit of pure cooperation" is our aim, even I must admit that this is more an "in theory" reality even in the best of circumstances. Still, we'll send you the permissions necessary for the Platform Open Network and add your ships to the maintenance queue. Report to Bruchsal at your earliest opportunity.
