I am making this thread as an announcement for the release of the Snub PvP Discord Server. The original server was founded by long-standing snub players almost 4 years ago, and was designed to develop new players into high-level snub pilots. Currently, it is ran by @-Rax-, @L1ght and myself. I joined the PvP Server shortly after I came to Discovery in April of last year, and the players in there have become good friends of mine and have been extremely helpful in teaching me the game, not just PvP but as a whole.
For a long time, the server has been invite-only. We've decided that we want to change that and make it more widely available. Flying snubs as a new player is a daunting task, and we'd like to use this as a way to train people to feel more comfortable flying them in PvP scenarios.
Within the server, you will find many players willing to help teach basic snub flying to players of all skill levels, and there is a ranking system to track your progress as you improve. There is also a video bank of tutorials and overall pvp situations, made by some of the most prominent PvPers on the server, such as @Haste @Wesker , @Antonio , and @Levenna, and a place to discuss ship loadouts, playstyles, and basic fundamentals. We plan to add to this and make it more robust over time.
I have made most of my friends on Discovery through this server, and we feel that making the server public will help with new players finding their place if they are more "PvP oriented." We also try to teach good etiquette when it comes to PvP and RP outside of Conn, even though the server is obviously more Conn-focused. Our goal is not to make a bunch of "/1 /2 Connbots" as many people jokingly refer to snub players. We want to teach players how to hold their own when flying fighters or bombers and how to effectively use them as a part of their overall Discovery experience.
You can find an invite to the Discord here. Look forward to seeing you!
