Had an idea the other day; since I get a lot of complaints on my pirate character IFF-wise (Which isn't against the rules, FYI), would it be possible to implement a generic pirate IFF, for pirates who aren't affiliated with a specific faction?
Civilian ships & loadout only & IFF saying "pirate", to be used in conjunction with pirate ID, perhaps?
...Or something like that
i have a Freelancing pirate in a pirate transport that has worked with both the outcasts and the corsairs.
even a hacker once....
shhh......
they dont know....
my freelancing pirate keeps his mouth shut about such things....
and the freelancer IFF throws people off alot too, until they scan me of course.....
not sure if this is completely legal or not, but i haven't received any flak for it yet.
?ay!!! Better than Freelancer IFF and Pirate ID. At least you would be redish on scanner and not neutral. but when well worked a Freelancer IFF is good also, and i mean RP wise.
Aswell, you will need a Pirate Station for that. The Freelancer one is better: More like Undercover, You look better, you wont be a Pirate like a Rogue is. You can always say you're not a Pirate. Youre a Freelancer.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

LOLS :-D u have pirate id and freelancer iff, ill sanction u if u rob me!!! kill me instead pls, nd ill sankshun u.
after i come back 4 u in mah lolbattleship.
But yeah, fair enough. Bad idea; no pirate ID it is then:P
I was kind of hoping for this. Nothing annoys me more as a trader than getting pirated by a Freelancer IFF'd vessel right next to West Point while being neutral to the NPCs (you'd be surprised how often that happens).
It also annoys me that the faction I'm starting up will have no choice but to use the Freelancer IFF with our pirate IDs, at least for the short term.
Eh... it could be done, but I don't think it's really necessary. But I think I'll keep my pirate with his Freelancer IFF. It throws people off. And he is, pretty much, a pirate for hire.
