Regarding this one - we've never actually allowed AI's to pirate for cash unless they were part of an official faction. If you recall, the Harvesters as a faction were shown how to do so by the Corsairs, so this was a learned behavior for them.
While some Harvester tagged ships may still exist, unfortunately they are no longer part of an official faction, and as such, may not pirate for cash anymore.
wat?
Since they lost official status, all rights to the harvesters disappear? Quite frankly that's retarded, especially for an ID that's already restricted. Do explain.
Unfortunately having just quit and been inactive for the last few weeks, I can't shed too much light on the situation as is. However I'm inclined to agree with the concept of wtf? here. Frankly if the group exists despite past problems, everything they've done is documented and the Admin team has just severed all the Harvesters past RP on the subject. A little extreme don't we think? I certainly do. I would not have voted for a sanction here, and I was one of the more vocal Admins regarding the removal of their status way back when.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
May the Sentient Machine Alliance pirate for cash? Or should they learn how to do that from the Harvesters and then not be able to do it either.
Despite being an avid supporter of the "long walk off a short pier with an equally short rope tied to a tall tree" concept for AIs as a whole the precedence set here is all kinds of ugly.
Holy mole. I'd like go post my what the f.. here as well. And that's after nearly being driven to binge drinking by the fiasco Geisha and the Harvester faction was.
As I understand the rules and situation (needless to say, only going on what is posted in that thread)--this sanction should be reversed. I mean, OOC/Metagame happenstance (like losing official status) really SHOULDN'T change in-game happenstance unless absolutely necessary. Harvesters lost their official status because they couldn't get active enough, not because their role play was subpar.
The AI ID with a Junker IFF says they can Pirate. So they can pirate.
I hate AIs and the Harvesters. And I still think this is wrong.
In what strange twisted universe does this sort of warped logic make any sense?
Just...
My brain hurts.

In the same token, if the [LN] ever lost Official Status, they wouldn't be able to either?
Because this wasn't something which was added with a huge post going ZOMG NEW THING YOU CAN DO BUT FOR OFFICIAL FACTIONS ONLEH.
This is "Oh hey btw u can't do this anymore for reasons which are somewhat nebulous. We didn't really let you know either but, hey, now u no amiright lol"
