Quote:Step 3b: Alternative Installation Method for 2000 and XP
1. Have a clean install of your Freelancer game. (Not required, but suggested).
2. Download the Mod.
3. Double click on the downloaded file and let FLMM extract the mod in to the mod manager.
4. If you see any other discovery mod versions in FLMM, click the delete button.
5. Click "restore backups" in FLMM. FLMM might stop responding. This is normal. Just wait until it says that it has finished.
6. Activate the Mod. FLMM might stop responding. This is normal. Just wait until it says that it has finished.
7. Done! Your mod has been installed! Play.
Step 4: Running the game
When you installed Freelancer, the setup program should have installed a shortcut on the desktop. Double click on this to start the game. It will probably ask if you want to update. Click yes.
Once the mod is installed and Freelancer run for the first time it should automatically update to the latest update. Because some people are behind proxies it *might* not automatically update. In this case you will need to manually install the update.
See this downlink links for older versions, alternate links and miscellanous tools.
