Sullivan wandered over to one of the fridges that lined the wall behind him. He plucked a can out and plopped it down on the counter in front of Sian. The logo on the front appeared to show an obnoxiously flag coloured patriotic eagle vomiting beer into a tankard.
He tapped the top with a grin. "Eagle Juice. $5 of mediocre Libertonian corporate beer. You can have this one on the house. Hah. Given how this bar's funded, I suppose on the House is a good turn of phrase." The bar wasn't particularly profitable, considering most of its clientele was ExSec or BAF, and both got heavy discounts.
"Heh, what a revolting brand. Thanks anyhow Sullivan" Cracks open the can and takes a sip. Grimacing from the taste, she adds credits to the tip pot and make her way back to the table whilst continuing to drink from the can. Settling back down on the booth's fake-leather couch, "Aye, sorry for that Miranda... girl'as gotta quench her thirst. What were ya saying?".
Well, their was a fair amount of sexist remarks going around, Sanada and I ended up focusing on "Corbettu" in our rage... it's all water under the bridge now *nervous smile towards Ed*. I hope. Damn, I was a ball of rage back in those first weeks looking back...Regrettable...
Shifting uncomfortably, Sian takes some more gulps of the Eagle Juice. Insidious... the more I drink the better it tastes, she thought to herself.
"About a month and a bit now. Was a supervisor on Graves before that... I just... needed to get out of that place. Not good for the mind nor the soul. What about you, what did you do before ExSec?"
"Of course. You do not seem like a dull person. I like you."
She exhaled deeply while her fingers unconsciously hovered over the pocket containing her cigs, however smoking wasn't allowed in the Blue Lion.
"I have worked in Cryer for two years. Escorted convoys to their research station in Sigma-17 system. My former experience with them probably got me recruited in ExSec."
"Cryer, huh? Aren't they the folks moving around body parts?" *shudders*"Sounds like creepy business. It's one thing blowing up ships... quite another moving bits of people in boxes. What inspired your change of work?"
Noticing the reflex movements Miranda was making towards her pocket, and guessing there was some kind of tobacco, or even narcotic, she makes a small gesture towards the area just outside where smoking wasn't prohibited; indicating the question.
"Uhh you know human organs are used for transplants to save peoples lives. And no, we mostly carried medicine around planets. It was a well-paid job and something you could tell proudly to others."
