A combi of 2 babylonian god names when i was making a nom, combined the Caelum'Aresh part to Caelumaresh and there you have it, my current nick for most games i play
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
Back in 2006 I was head over heels for this game Silkroad Online, and more specifically, a frowned upon class back then (Blader), which was basically a sort of tank, shield and blade, etc.
Peeps tended to avoid it due to low damage and painfully slow lvling process since the game was a huge grindfest, but I loved it due to its skill animations.
The Blader was a beast in pvp, you simply couldn't kill him without running out of potions (which was as if having a ship with 0 power core)
So this dude in my guild, best blader on the server we were playing, comes 'n teaches me the ropes, shortly before turning into a total arse for reasons I don't know to this day and picking on a friend in the guild.
I went 1v1 with him on the stake that if I beat him, he'd have to leave. (he never lost 1v1's).
Well, guess what. He was too good a teacher. He lost and had to leave. His nick was Norain.
As a memento of the time, I took the name for myself, only changing the ending letter, and thus became Noraim.
Mine is really old, back then I was trying out roleplaying and we gathered a group of people to roleplay on a Warcraft 3 custom map called Waugriffs COT RPG. It was basically a huge map with simple mobs of varying levels spread around. Players chose one of the numerous heroes (powerful units that can level up and gain much more abilities compared to most other units) and began their journey. In the town center in the middle you could also choose to acquire blueprints for an empire of each vanilla race (including campaign ones) and custom races.
Now, I really liked the Naga and chose to build a Naga empire. My Naga kingdom was built on a secluded island on the west you could only access with flying units or through a portal and usually attacked quick and deadly, earning my hero the nickname "Viper" within time. Eventually, when I conquered the highest-level area of the game, a mountain on the most southeast part of the map, it turned into Viper, Lord of Apex, and then to my current name, Lord Vipex.
Also while typing I had nostalgia overflow and really needed to dig the map up again. Time for an new journey [:
While I have lots of good memories attached to it I actually wanted to get myself a new pseudonym, though I can't find one that fits right.
It's a name of my favorite character from Malazan Book of the Fallen
Anomander Rake is the Lord of Moon's Spawn, Son of Darkness, Knight of Darkness and the leader of the Tiste Andii.
He is Soletaken, able to assume the form of a huge black dragon - he was one of the three chosen sons of Mother Dark.
Toris was taken from my original character back then (anthro gray fox). LaCroix was added, due to the inspiration with one game, can't recall now. Original Dynasty from my Drakania is still bearing the LaCroix family name (also, gray fox, but different in look: born as thief, became king, assassinated by his own son).
Toris James Gray was evolution for some unknown reason, into artistic name, I suppose.
