POST-EDIT: The following post is the opinion of a former leader of the Vagrant Raiders and in no way reflects the Vagrant Raiders as a faction today.
Vagrant Raiders High Command would like to apologize for any behavior exhibited by the former leader in question that may seem unbecoming of a faction leader, and would like to reassure the Discovery community that the Vagrant Raiders are in fact not a bunch of whiny kids. The former leader in question is no longer a member of the Vagrant Raiders.
So, Me (switchback) and Isen (Miles.Green) have become fed up trying to get any word of why our faction SRPs where invalidated, so we have decided to post on the forums because its clear our message is not getting across. We want to know what happened to our ships, and why they where removed from the SRP list unjustly.
For thoes who do not know about this little drama the admins started, after a series of unfortunate events Switchback left discovery, leaving VR leadership to Pyromaniac. He found that the VR SRP'd ships where bastille'd and removed from the list of SRPs. When he attempted to contact the administration team, they either would have no comment or simply ignore him. This is exactly what is happening now, while myself and Isen attempt to figure out why exactly our ships where impounded. From a recent conversation with an admin, we only got the answer that said admin was not included in any decision regarding them, and that no information pertaining to the SRP invalidation could be found. That leads me to believe that no such clear decree was given.
A possible reasoning was given to me (Switchback) by another admin, including a single picture of proof. However. This picture of proof was for an infraction that was not on the SRP ships, nor very connected to them. Specificly, the infraction was a oorp in system message. What I have yet to discover is why the administration team decided to remove a Faction SRP when I had my own personal SRP that could have been removed. Furthermore, why didn't the admins pursue to sanction me, even if I had clearly violated the rules? Why had they decided to remove the SRPs for a faction when the instigator of all their problems had just asked to leave?
The administration team has the responsibility for carrying out rule violation reports as they are filed and giving due reasoning for their actions. However, we have not received any indication as to what the faction did to deserve this.
So my question to the admins, should they actually answer us this time:
Quote:[5/8/2013 10:48:24 PM] ***********: I'm told the SRP ships aren't ever coming out
On what grounds. the VR as a faction has not been sanctioned. The VR has never broken the rules set forth either regarding general rules or SRP rules. We are even willing to amend our SRP rules to account for our current politics in-game. We would like reasoning behind this ruling, because as it stands it looks mighty fishy.
Our core roleplay is based around the Metropolis, not as a combat ship but as a inRP base of operations and home. The ship itself has been around longer than most disco players.
Note: This is not about me (Switchback), this is about the faction. I don't particularly care for the capital ships anyway, even if they where given back I personally would not be flying any caps. I was not even the one that started asking for the caps back recently, that would be Isen.

This is me posting as me, not as a part of the staff, just in case you want to blame the conspiracy afterwards.
Have a look at the red text, last I checked SRPs have not been transferable that easily, so if you quit and gave the faction to someone else in the meantime, the Admins appear to have every right to remove that SRP, to make sure that nobody that is not allowed to use these ships can do so.
Requesting a new one appears to be your best bet, at least better then wasting time complaining about how unfair everyone is and how nobody loves the VR.

This seems to go against the common sense of a factionalised SRP.

Considering the faction was then disbanded for well over a year, I'm not sure if that holds much weight either.
So far as I can tell, the SRP was revoked because the faction was disbanded, and the original bearer had quit. If you want them back now, it'd probably be easiest to re-request them. Maybe start a RP project about repairing/maintaining/recovering of the ships in question.
That said, that's just what I've been able to gather from the case. I'll try and get an official stance on the matter.

While I am willing to accept this judgement, VR has gone on long periods of time without activity, yet before recently they where never removed. Shagohad was even flying Metropolis around in 4.85 without VR-VCS- on it as a solo captain dragon thing.... You would have to ask him for specifics. Besides, VR was still around when the SRPs where revoked.
Updating the SRP is probably the more logical thing to do, the ships have gone long periods of time without a refit. We never planned (or plan) to use the ships in a direct piracy role, and the ships where more used for displays of power and not actual combat.
As for getting an official stance on the matter, thank you. We appreciate it.

This is true, but didn't you formally disband last year or the year before?
I never posted a disbandment notice. Besides, this point is mute. VR was "formally" disbanded before. The same can be said about the Virulian Enclave, yet their SRP's have not been touched.
As for the "RP", that was rescended a while ago when the LR- had no interest nor intention to continue the RP. It only got as far as rogues where being shown a tour of the ship. Otherwise.
Also. I have access to the VR account. The original post was a colaberation between myself and my fellow VR. Be it hard to believe, I don't particularly care for the caps other than for RP purposes and ingame meet and greets. Additionally, Dream Theater (Josh) is backing me when it comes to the ownership of the SRPs.
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
