Unfortunately Leaving Disco - uspatriotsf - 10-30-2008

It is with a heavy heart that I finally type this message. I have been putting it off and putting it off. However, I just don't have it in me anymore. I had issues in the past that kept forcing me to take hyatus from Disco, and I have tried each and everytime to come back. and I just don't think I can this time.

First and foremost, it is not appropriate for me to keep leaving for weeks at a time and remain an admin. My schedule has become very full with work and other things. and I just dont have the time nor effort that this great community deserves from its admins. Besides, you all now have a great and very full admin team that I doubt will miss my participation in it. I have made some great friends within that admin team and I hope to remain in contact with them in some capacity, but I need to resign my position as an admin for the reasons I am stating here. Disco deserves more than I am just able to give these days. Besides, its been a while since anyone has seen [Admin]ACMerc in space anyway, so you probably won't even notice that Im gone.

As a player, I may still pop in every once in a while, but I can't promise that. In reality I have had to cut all of my gaming and other "electronic" activities way down. I got to a point where I was giving up time with my wife and kids to play this and other games, and that is just simply not good. To tell the truth, I've found it difficult to get into FL while playing the last few times I've logged in.

I fully planned on keeping any negative statements out of this message, but I feel compelled to mention one thing I noticed since returning again. I have been playing as brand new characters that no one would recognize. I gotta say, I was somewhat disheartened the way some things have gone. Not every time, but a lot of times while a flew a fighter I ran into way too many Caps, which in a fighter is not fun. Not to mention the fact that my Navy character was completely disregarded because I was not a member of a faction. When I decided to try my hands at a Cap, which I've never liked flying, many, not all, but many players refused to RP with me because I was a "Cap Whore". Now I bring this up only to say that you all need to be better to each other. Give folks the benefit of the doubt before just throwing judgements at them and their RP or lack thereof.

OK, off my soapbox. I have made a ton of great friendships here, and I will relish my time here. I have had more fun and good time spent than I can even remember. This is hands down, the best gaming community I have ever and ever will see. I will miss my time here and I have missed my every day participation on these forums. I just have trouble finding my place here anymore, but that is another issue all together. I do just want to thank all of you for the oppurtunities and great times I have been given and shared with many of you.

A few special thank yous and goodbyes are in order for the following (I know Im gonna leave a few out, and I apologize for that, and please don't take it personally)

Thank you to all of you that I have had personal interactions with and all the rest of you that have made Disco so great. I was always taught to never say good bye, so instead I'll say "See ya later."

TO FELLOW ADMINS: I'll be posting in the admin forums regarding this decision shortly.

Ah man, I was really hoping you would make it back:(Whatever has befallen you I'm sure you'\ll find your way through the darkness and to the rest stop. Yea, just cross your legs and dance!

Be safe man, we'll have another talk about IPA's and the CFL again some day, I swear by it. If you feel like a chat I'll try and get on Skype more.

Hello. Although I'm new here, I just want to wish you the best.

Remember, there aren't any right or wrong decisions. Just follow your instincts,
you won't regret it.

Good luck! Maybe we'll see each other in Disco sometime....

Well this just sucks...

Good luck man, thanks so much for playing your part in Discovery, come back if possible!

I was thinking about you the other day. Strange....

I was actually wondering "I wonder where AC is?" You could say I saw it coming.

Your presents here will be sorely missed! And I'm sure hundreds of other will agree with me. You did alot for the community and for others. Don't be a stranger mate;)

Cheers:cool:

Best of luck, Merc. I know the feeling of leaving games due to life. I lost a game clan I was admin of for 9 years due to work, family and the like. I have found that just being a player makes it so much easier and less stressful thus opening a bit of time to actually enjoy gaming. Don't be too much of a stranger.

sorry your going, actually.

Unfortunately Leaving Disco - looqas - 10-30-2008

Sad to see you go. Anybody working towards making Disco a bit better place deserves a pat in the back.

Very interesting observations you've made personally while flying incognito and they really do need to be discussed in some other thread.

Unfortunately Leaving Disco - Treewyrm - 10-30-2008

Guess I'll reply then in the same way:

See you later, Aaron!
