Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - Shelco - 07-24-2017 The recent time has been a great one for disco, regarding the influx of new players. However, I have noticed that some of them tend to disregard the basic No-Go's as a newbie, that Corile even listed. They create their own unofficial groups, completely unaware of lore or sometimes even basic game knowledge, those unofficial groups mostly look like a disaster we shake our heads at. Everyone should be able to do their roleplay, but please, set a rule for a specific time or amount of posts, a player has to have, before being allowed to make such a project. This might sound harsh but it only is a self-protection, those people ruin their future images by being known as "this/those idiot/s that created x and y, which was a complete fail, pls remove". Instead, we should highly encourage joining the poor populated official factions that already exist. In the recent times, I got so many head-shake comments from friends that sent me links to such lolwutty threads. Don't punish them for doing it but just remove their threads and tell them about it. What do you think? Should we restrict such factions to prevent a flow of hate towards the newbs that just wanted to have fun? Or should we just let them do their thing and handle it on their own? RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - diamond1 - 07-24-2017 This won't stop them, most of the newer players nowadays disregard rules and do so anyhow. RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - sindroms - 07-24-2017 I am sad to say, while I agree with the points raised, failure is the best kind of experience giver. We can just hope that said failure won't be enough to make someone give up. RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - sasapinjic - 07-24-2017 Mayority of factions/clans/groups and their leaders in any on-line game are to selfish, arogant, egoistic and self centered. If newbie player in this game had any bad expirience in any other game, he will avoid factions in this game like a plague and focus on finding group of players with same play style, and later perhaps on creating its own faction. Preventing any kind of freedom to create they own dream faction will only chase them off game. But what about the extremely negative feedback and hate they get on the forums and the game for their plans? Wouldn't active negative experience within the game drive them off faster than something to prohibit it in the first place? RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - sasapinjic - 07-24-2017 Ops, double post, sorry. RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - sasapinjic - 07-24-2017 ^ depends on the feedback. Negativne but constructive feedback will help faction to improve it self, extreme negativly should be counted as trial by forum and sanctioned, becouse it mostly is trial by forum. RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - Shelco - 07-24-2017 But you cannot sanction people for openly stating their opinions in a very negative way if the criticised material is actually awful as hell. RE: Suggestion regarding unofficial factions and newbies - Rusty Wing - 07-24-2017 I'm afraid, that things don't work in this way. Newcomers consider any feedback, as trolling, provocations or insults. I know it right, because I had experience with this. Even person above blamed me in listed violations. However, this is water under the bridge. Newbies factions aren't bad, however, but they have to be under experienced players, who are ready to teach them, how to RP and work with feedback. Otherwise, it turns out that Shelco listed. |
