Social Survey: Why people are loosing interest to Discovery? - Groshyr - 02-17-2021

I understand, Freelancer is an old game and its gameplay mechanics are limited, and the RP environment is one of the fewer reason why this community alive (although it's not huge), however, I wonder, why people are leaving in general: because of gameplay, lack of content in the mod, community, etc? Slow pace of improvement requests getting implemented. Plus, the game is old and there are other, better and fun games that are plug-and-play.

Long waiting for actions in repeated loop of monotone actions (fixed by hyper jumps)
Add there is very long beraucracy for requests that can last for weeks and months.

Disappointment in pew pew, high gap of skills between noob and aces. Double standards in morality, praising ace codex of actions, which is decreasing newbies chances even lower. (fixed by usage of caps)

Toxicity of people in power of Liberty (fixed by running from Liberty)

Constant strain on nerves, when you posses pob or leader of official faction, there is need to check for attack alerts or faction quarter online checks (fixed only by getting rid of them)

Honorably mentions to unlawful/nomad gameplay which leads to being ganked and you don't have chances to run away from them, because every advantage for running is nerfed further. Or will be even reported.

Additional mentions to nerfs of every thing you was finding as best in economy, guns or ships, making your findings or achieved things as worthless.

I think it because of the Gameplay, and You are really limited on what you can do in Disco. I took a lot of breaks from Disco because things were the same. What got me back to the community is the roleplay. I mainly enjoy the forumlancer more than the game.

Busy with real life, feel like playing other games, too many people develop expectations and expectations counter enjoyment.

Toxicity of the community is #1 for me
#2 is that it's hard to find RP that fits what I want to do ingame so I just get demotivated since it's all either large scale political RP or RPing with guns (shoutout to NO- for being different on this)

Also senior year of college is a bitch

But this was one of the main reasons wich I decided to just don't give a fuck and started playing for the lulz.

Incompetency of the team to act decisively let alone communicate among itself, which subsequently enables fractured and volatile groups which engage in the cannibalization of one another for perceived power and community standing. The perfect embodiment of a cesspit.

gonna ask you to specify with details before you go spouting off claims like this

otherwise

glacial devteam work with a side of story really only going to their friends for input and avoiding everyone they dislike and just writing their own little fanfics without including the people actually involved in the regions is what gets me

the double standards of the moderation is another

constant nerfs of what's good instead of making the literal garbage equipment better

adding new stuff instead of enhancing what exists

several factors, but I think the most important factor is modern graphics
look at star citizen and other similar space sims/games
