OK, i have Windows Vista and have the same problam as all Vista users, so i watch opening portals and network, and discovered that some of AV close connecton to the server then you try to connect, so i Uninstaled all AV and Firewall(windows or other firewall), Tund-off Windows Defender(optional sometimes) and Security Center(optional sometimes). So let's play :yahoo:

If you want more info plz write to me. (24/7 PVP nickname: Peppers)

P.s. sorry for my bad English

There has to be a better way to do it. Disabling all the protection is a bad idea..

Freelancer for Vista - darkguardian - 06-29-2007

you could dual-boot and have vista for everything but games (excluding halo 2) and then have an XP for all your games.

Ya... Disabling everything is kinda stupid, as then there is no point to having it.

PM bestflyerhere, he knows how.

I know a way without doing all that. See, the key is to put Freelancer on one of the "allowed" programs in Defender.

You cannot have any Mcafee, Norton, or Avast-like AVs. AVG works fine.

You forgot to add a neon sign saying "PC Ready to be Hacked and screw aroundwith"...Geez man.
If this is what you gotta do with Vista and you like Freelancer that much. uninstall it and install Windows XP.

Peace.

Freelancer for Vista - Unseelie - 07-24-2007

how do i add an item to the windows defender allowed list?

Freelancer for Vista - BestFlyerHere - 07-25-2007

Vista ate your characters?

Sorry, allow it on Windows Firewall.

Start, type in "Windows Firewall", click on "Windows Firewall", not the advanced settings one.

In the top left, click "Allow a program through windows firewall"

Scroll down to F, and check Freelancer. Click OK, and you're good to go.
