It's math. Depends on the distance and the cruise-chargeup-time of your vessel. You calculate the quickest way, and that's what I use. Rule of thumb: 1,5k distance is the limit for big crafts (with low thrust), 2k for fighters etc. .

Depends. 2k is usually the magical "border".
Means I cruise if more than 2k away from the lane, thrust if less than that.

i thrust 0-2,5k.... more than 2,5k = cruise engine

Like everybody else, it depends on distance. But I put my vote in using cruise because I use it most of the time, as most situations require it.

Cruise, most times.
Its only one button to push, thruster is fastes be e-kill+thrust+thrust, thats 3 buttons, while with cruise i have already selected the lane, and wait for the F3 pushing.

Well if it's over 2k (2.1 2.2 might still thrust can't remember any out there) I cruise to the next lane and speed dock to it.

I let autopilot do all the work. I'm not really bothered with quick docking and jamming the most distance in a set amount of time.

i like the thrust...sometimes i even thrust from distances of 10k..simply because its easier to control,and on larger ships like transports or hegemons..thrust is alot better for docking
so yeah i vote thr thrust...also..you can get nearly 1k distance on thrust while the cruise is charging
