[Request] New Scylla Model - Charos - 02-17-2012

I've been looking into the Good Ol' Scylla of mine and I noticed it's somewhat poor, really. So I hope someone would like to <strike>model a new one</strike> make higher quality textures and then perhaps devs might look into it aswell. Reward will be good.

I hope Molly and Rogue leaders will back me up in this.

I as you know am all for it- even for full new Molly line since Mollys and Rogues are the only one that share ship line at 100% and this leads to some tech nerf problem balance Issues like Mollys getting nerf with Tartatus cannon if the new system is implemented.

However knowing that we wont get a **** I would be happy Scylla to get one less heavy slot but instead getting one 360° and converting the 4rth useless one in light- so you wont need to mount 2 LMs in order to have 360° LM range- kinda stupid now.

Keep in mind, this is a destroyer, Govedo. Not a fullsized cruiser. It's meant to be agile with a rather restricted firing arc. That said, I'm willing to have a look at replacements. Requirements:
- Must match the Rogue line in style, and use the Rogue textures.
- Multiple LoD's defined.
- Size and weapon arcs should not differ greatly from the current version so we don't need to fully rebalance this thing. IE don't turn a destroyer into a battlecruiser.
- The replacement improves over the current version in the eyes of folk using it - IE Molly/LR players opinion on the new model should be positive overall. Can't please everyone, but if the general concensus is no, the model will be rejected.

Oh come on Art, you know the Supposed types of the capships have no bearing in this mod, with the Bretonian DESTROYER being one of the heaviest cruisers, the Liberty Siege CRUISER being a light, the Liberty DREADNAUGHT being a light battleship, ect ect.

In other news, I see no problem with the current scyalla model. I kinda wish people would stop trying to fix what aint broke, and spend dev energies more productively.

Sorry for my English comprehension, but I am confused. You have typed that if the community is pleased by the model (meaning the majority) the model will be rejected?

No, doing something like that would be dumb.

What he said was that if the majority of people say "no" to the new model, meaning they don't like the new model, then the new model will be rejected.



And personally, I quite like the current Scylla. I don't think a replacement is needed.

Yes, but perhaps a texture improvement.... It'd be hard to say "No" to quality improvement of existing model.
