Zynth's greetings from Germany - Zynth - 06-03-2012 Hello guys, finally got a stable internet connection in "Hotel Duo" somewhere in Prague in the Czech Republic. Today I shall visit the ancient city of Prague. I'm just here to mention that I haven't died in any plane crash so you can't have my ships. Yes? Also, I'll just make a few comments on my little holiday. The German portions are huge compared to what I have back in Singapore. I ate an entire pork knuckle on the first day, polished to the bone. Felt really full. The weather here is freezing. Summer isn't here, it's practically winter. Have to wear two layers of jackets, I'm just not used to the cold. I can't imagine how some people here actually can cycle in the wind and cold wearing a track suit. German architecture is amazing. All the old buildings are so cool. All we have in Singapore are high density buildings, flats. Similar to the "communist concrete slabs" only taller and better maintained. I've been to the palaces such as Sanssouci, it was epic. I can't stop spending Euros on souvenirs. I bought a Russian Marine officer hat and brooch, a salami sausage for back home, a calligraphy set to add to my collection of fountain pens and a whole lot of other gifts for the people back home. Unfortunately, I noted that some of the people here aren't too friendly to Asians. Understandable though, seeing as Singaporeans don't like foreigners on their turf as well. Oh and I managed to avoid saying "New Berlin" for quite some time. Though I think I may have said it once or twice. Places I've been to: Berlin wall East side Gallery The Reichstag The Brandenburg Gates Checkpoint Charlie The DDR Museum Sanssouci Palace Cecileinhof Palace Glienicker Bridge Kay. See you guys soon, I'll be back in Freelancer after I return from Singapore, I don't have Discovery on my laptop. As for now, I will be enjoying my trip for the next few days. Stupid climate, I swear. In March we had a day of 28°C already. And two weeks ago it was pretty much around 30°C. And I'm not sure whether that salami will keep until you're back home... Zynth's greetings from Germany - Jack_Henderson - 06-03-2012 Hey Zynth!:DEnjoy your field trip! And make sure to have dumplings and roast pork, plus some dark beer. And good choice of sights in Berlin.:) Zynth's greetings from Germany - Zynth - 06-03-2012 ' Wrote:https://www.tumblr.com/ Oh wait...I don't use any of them. I avoid blogging sites like the plague. If you don't want me to post here, oh fine. I'll do the talking on Skype. Zynth's greetings from Germany - Tyler - 06-03-2012 Hey, I don't have a problem with it, he has the right to ignore the thread. Hope your having a blast. See you when you get back. Zynth's greetings from Germany - Daedric - 06-03-2012 Ignore him Zynth. This is the community part of the forums, feel free to share your adventures. Pictures please. :D I want to visit Germany again. Probably won't happen though. Zynth's greetings from Germany - Agmen of Eladesor - 06-03-2012 I would pretty much say ignore him. We're a community. He's the cousin no one wants to claim, but we're stuck with anyway, trying to ruin things for everyone else. Also, sounds neat what you're seeing. Be careful where you go - turns out that food can be confiscated at airports by customs people if it ends up being something they don't think you ought to have. I suggest eating the salami with some beer and taking it home that way... And I know where you're coming from with the names - I've found myself doing that as well... Zynth's greetings from Germany - Nicolas - 06-03-2012 Enjoy Prague, it`s a very nice city and beer prices are just awesomely low there. And freezing weather in Prague means -22 Degrees. Still had a great time when I was there though. Oh, and visit Vienna while you`re in that part of the world. ;) Zynth's greetings from Germany - Madvillain - 06-03-2012 Sounds like an awesome trip dude , enjoy! Drop by mah country and smoke some weedz!:P |
