Trying to walk away from this in a polite manner.
No, I cannot define it, which is why I put it in ' and '. I am not the supreme god of RP.

But it is without question that bending of all rules are going on to justify pvp.

I.e. metagaming is a sanctionable offense, but don't tell me that people don't use the chat-list to find targets and relog.
Players even admit to metagaming and stooping to the level of going after the player behind the character in several threads.

Your postcount leads me to believe that you know this and hence I can only conclude that you're pretending to be more ignorant than you really are. I think there's a word for that. If that's not the case, I do apologise.

I'll say this one more time, so you don't have to read my post again.
I'm not against competing and I don't mind the shootouts myself.

But I get the feeling that some are here for other reasons.

Come on.. Why even do this? It's silly.
I understand this and don't have a problem with such scenarioes since it's clearly justified iRP.

Peace

Neither of those are anything RP related. I am perfectly aware of those happening, but I thought you meant bending the character itself's roleplay to shoot people and wanted you to clear up when that happens to me.

I'd love to tell you muppets to just shut up and go play the game, but...oh right.

This actually raises an interesting question - is it wrong to be in discovery for the PvP? As long as you keep your RP in line, that is.

I mean, after all, this is still a shooter. Your ship is flying around with guns for a reason.

The second sentence says it all. As long as you keep to the standards of RP required on Disco, you can PvP as much as you want.

RE: People afraid of the blue - sindroms - 04-06-2014

You don't even have to RP. We have conn and group fights, which require bare minimum RP.
We have plenty of members, who have no interest in RP but add to the fun of the battlefield, especially during large scale events.

Somehow viewing them as sub-standard Discovery members would be illogical and highly elitist.

Then, weaponless ships should not be subject to PvP, right?

I meant it as part of the game mechanic. Though, I expect that without the ability to shoot at things, all the pretty souls here would sooner than not quit the game themselves. PvPing is an essential part of the game, as far as I see it.
