Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - Coin - 12-15-2008 Never done it, not even in SP (did missions instead of trading). Even though the profits are high, the route is dodgy, and has wilde and pirates all over it. Sure, you CAN hire escorts, but then your making as much as a quieter run. As I understand it, '85 waves bye-bye-now to the 'Noob' run. Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - sovereign - 12-15-2008 ' Wrote:Bacon: That poster is diamond! The Rheinland route in there is indeed a nifty route, but those "occasional Bundschuh" will not be impressed you are ferrying their friends to Vierlande... be prepared for some swift talking if you plan on escaping with your life. Beryllium - Engine Components doesn't rile people up so much (in RP, anyway) and is still quite profitable. Just check if there are any Corsairs in the Omegas that day, if not, then trade away. Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - whitegh0st - 12-15-2008 I've done this run quite a few times, but to Kyushu not NT. I really don't see anything wrong with it. People say it's bad for RP, but I'd say there is more RP happenings on that run than any other! Not to mention that it's the main source of credits for the gaggle who always hang around the NB>S13 JH. It's no as if it's an easy route either, I could spend ages running stuff through lanes and basically avoiding everyone, but I rather enjoy banter with the invariable groups of pirates you find in each system and they add an element of danger to a quick profit. It's quick, but it's risky... just the job for Han Solo types who like to stay off the lanes. The part that's bad for RP is the Chugoku part. People know Chugoku exists, but even Samura is taking a massive gamble in constructing the gate to it. The only people who know what's in Chugoku are the GMG, the BD, and possibly the GC. That's it. Not 'everyone and their dog'. If people did know about that jumphole, the KNF would have trashed the BD long ago; they can. There is absolutely no way that the BD could survive that, and it's only by ruthlessly murdering anyone who comes near the JH in Hokkaido that they've kept the KNF from plowing in through there. Your trader DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT THAT JUMPHOLE. Even if they know about the S-13 to Chugoku one for god knows why... if the KNF haven't been able to find it, why should some trader who shouldn't do anything a tenth as risky (remember, in RP, a trader entering Chugoku is literally tantamount to suicide) be able to find it? Much less hundreds of traders? The NB to Sigma-13 hole is fine. It's a risk, with the Wilde and all, but it isn't guaranteed death. But nobody other than the BD, GMG, and GC know that the Blood Dragons are in Chugoku, and even Samura is only suspicious. That's why it's ooRP. Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - swift - 12-15-2008 Hear ye hear ye.. I and a couple more indie pirates in sigma 13 have started a blockad of all ships carrying diamonds or niobium.. Thar. Tharz a method. Thar eeet eez. So far 16 ships stopped and dropped all cargo/returned to NB/got killed. Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - RingoW - 12-15-2008 Noooo and i'm proud of, like the 46 other liars beside me. I have done it, once or twice, but never a full load of diamonds. The cargo was equally shared with other goods needed in Kusari, like Boron, Ship Hull Panels, Military Vehicles, Light Arms and High Temperature Alloy. That's how active they are :P Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - blubba - 12-15-2008 I used to do it a fair few times. I stopped because of increased pirate activity though. First up was Tinky, then the Nova started a tour-de-force with their allies, Bushido. Thats when I stopped. There are far more interesting routes that can include either diamonds or Niobium but 'Hey', if you don't like those commodities, there are plenty of others. Trading is boring enough without going over the same thing again and again. I think you should have had a go. Just to do it. This is, as I have been told so many times, 'Discovery'. But it shouldn't be a regular thing through Chugoku. You should really have a reason to go through there and being 'stoney' don't cut it. Have YOU ever done the Diamond - Niobium run? - deluca - 12-16-2008 theres nothing wrong with doing the diamond niobium run as long as you rp its as simple as that this will go to page 13 and then float to the bottom of the forum end |
