RE: How to make your font bad. - Groshyr - 12-24-2019

This is good but poor of colours and a bit overloaded by details and tables

Horror for everything that is not 1920x1080

More spoilers for the god of spoilers! but fonts are pretty well suited tho

I love it. It's a really good one

Horror for everything that is not 1920x1080(2) and too dark grey. Try #BFBFBF

Then if you're feeling stupid about it then why are you still engaging?

Because I want to see well formatted roleplay instead of size 5 yellow texts in the Future

EDIT: Phone makes my english go boom

But honestly, the best what I've seen on the forum was exactly the Core info page. I really like it but its made for 1920x1080 sized screens and as for me has too dark grey text. The other things are good, spoilers, tables, other things - all were made really cool and pleasant to read it but with damn 1920x1080

ed: at least this grey can be read

No Christmas no problem!

I'm not begging for bright pastel colors here, I'm agreeing that text is a little darker than preferable. Is it really too much to ask fora few shades lighter for contrast's sake?

Rules to make the content more sensible:
  1. Do not overuse words. There is almost always more than one descriptive that can be applied to a situation.
  2. Avoid excessive superlatives. The magnificently awesome description rarely is.
  3. One thought, one sentence. (ex: Cats have fur. Sometimes, the fur is multiple colors.)
  4. Group similar thoughts together; when the topic changes, new paragraph. Corollary: Even with the same topic, when the thought changes, new paragraphs apply.
  5. Before you publish, try to read your material as if you are someone other than yourself. If you can't do it in your head, read it Slowly and Thoroughly out loud. Do not make the mistake of "knowing" what you wrote because you will miss places where you did not include words, where the word order is incorrect, or where the spell checker betrayed you with a correctly spelled, wrong, word choice.
  6. If your writing is important, and you have time, have someone else read it before you publish, especially for "official" correspondence.

Admittedly, not all rules apply in every situation, but I use most of the above all the time.

For the record, before posting, I read the entire post twice, replaced several words, restructured a couple of lines, moved three of them and removed an entire paragraph.

I would like to think that people use the Preview feature before posting huge roleplay posts that they put alot of effort into to make sure they are readable.

I tend to use pretty dark colors for example because my Monitor is super bright and i have 0 issues reading it. In most cases I think brighter colors, in particular Colors like yellow and neon green, are more hurtful for the eyes than say a dark blue or normal gray ( altough this depends on the font as well, which, if you check some of my old threads, I used to heavily cripple the Visuals of my RP so I am guilty too)
