' Wrote:EDIT: why are you neutral to zoners? They invited Corsairs, Corsairs nuked Cork...

Ask the MR, who told me to be neutral to them.
It bain't my choice, so. I be just an' oul woman tryin' t' protect her people, an' especially t' orphans o' Cork.

On the one hand, it's smart not to rile up an enemy who can get his friends to beat the snot out of you. On the other hand, you don't mess with Mollies. They'll cut ye.

Id like to see a poll on this. Like who wants the changes and who doesn't.

You know, Ems, I like it, but it feels like the Gaians are getting a little screwed here...I mean, you're basically opening Gaia up for busines with all the Tradelanes, not to mention making it easier for those smuggling arses to get away with the wildlife and bring in human cargo to the Shetland.

In one respect you are right Eppy - perhaps the Gaians are getting screwed in Bretonia.

All the more reason for the Gaians to start spreading out - penetrate into the heart of Sirius and attack Calil Minor, and use their alliances with Hogosha and corsairs to get at OSC and GMG terraforming in the Sigmas.

Think local, act global!

Gaians attacking California minor actually makes sense, too.

After all, the ELF was founded in the UK, and is now considered a threat in the USA.

I'm actually using plans for the system proposed by a Gaian..and the rumors we're writing...each one of them so far, for Edinburgh, talks about how much damage these blokes are doing to the effort. We might be shafting them, but we are in no way trying to. We're trying to open the region up for activity. (of course, in character, we are trying to crush them, but OOC? we sort of expect that more activity in the region will boost Gaian activity.) Moreover, I know this might be a harsh pill to swallow, but the Gaians are a small group, and the balance of power is not at all in their favor.

Plus the idea I offered put the lane on the other side of the sun to Gaia, thus only those who have access should be able to easily get there, unless OSC lets them illegally (:nono:). Wildlife people won't really get anywhere else, as the lanes go in the wrong direction, and the Shetland is away from any improvements. If anything, I think this gives the Gaians more rp opportunities - they can disrupt the lanes and even have a reason to visit Dublin now (after raids toward the BMM station idea).

Of course, if the lanes and such are still in construction, the reason they aren't getting finished very quick is because of the Gaians slowing them down, just like with Ayr.

We're working on rumors? No one told me. :O We should get some new Gaian rumors with everything going on!

It actually would make sense for Gaians to start advancing into California and attacking Cali Minor. I think it would also be a good idea for them to get a base in Magellan, since the entire right side of Magellan is empty of bases. Or there could be a Gaian base near the Leeds jump hole, now that it has been moved to the southern part of the ice field.

I would also love it if the Gaians didn't have to fly such a long distance from Endinburg to Newcastle to get to Skye base, since right now they either must A) Take the Leeds -> Newcastle Jump gate, which is a bit ooRP, or B) Take the Manchester jump hole that resides south of planet Leeds, then take the Newcastle jump hole in Manchester, then fly between 150-200k without using trade lanes, and all the while passing near two Molly bases. I propose that a jump hole leading from Leeds to Newcastle be placed in either A) the LD-14 asteroid field, or B) In the asteroid field east of Stokes. The jump hole would then take you near the Inverness jump hole there.

Also, stepping back from the Corsairs from full alliance to neutrality allows the Gains to reach out to OC allied factions like the Lane Hackers.

Personally I would like to see Gaians as neither friend nor foe to either Corsair or Outcast - neutral to both.
