Greetings to High Command,

We have been steadily consolidating forces in Pennsylvania as per latest directive. Two matters worth your attention are presented as follows:

Ven'Gyr Recovery Operation

I'm pleased to announce all inventory quotas are now met. I have with myself the Arranmore Dockmaster's datacube from the preliminary inspection and retrofit effort, as well as a full tally of additional items Logistics has moved over the course of the last month and a half. I want to applaud the work of HFL Wicked Weasel and HFL Helldash in particular during long range supply routes, and have taken liberty to brig the crew of HFL Feral Son for heavy alcohol use on duty and overspending on assets. We've put those to good use regardless, trading the excess resources for a top of the line snubcraft for a promising initiate, which my second report will cover in more detail.

As requested, my full gun camera footage from the recovery operation is made available in the attachment below. I would also like to thank for the extended leave following that. I believe results prove it was helpful in my current assignment.

Pennsylvania Military Aid For Zoner Militants

Task Force presence continues to gather in Driftwood. As of yesterday, we have gained the ability to launch multiple large sorties in the sector around Erie without losing strategic flexibility, or leaving major assets unattended. About four events are of note:

1.

Five days ago on the Friday, Feb 13th The Incursus and a sizable battle group tested Fort Bush's combat readiness as a diversionary action, allowing our main force in Pennsylvania to consolidate at Pinnacle and establish its Area of Operations with relative ease. An Utsunomiya Commonwealth capital ship and a solitary opportunist Lane Hacker Longhorn opted to assist our operation, proving vital in securing the Incursus' tactical retreat from the perimeter. The battle group has otherwise suffered heavy casualties and is almost finished recycling within lighter forces for future operations.

Fort Bush's combat readiness was judged ultimately lacking, as the battle group spent almost an hour holding the base's perimeter undisturbed, save for a lone Liberty battlecruiser who seemed protective of something named a Chupacabra on the base. The False Liberty residents managed to muster proper resistance eventually, thanks to on the radar detection by a Liberty Security Force agent, identified as "Reed". Once the resident 46th assets joined, the Incursus was forced to exit the combat zone, but was able to achieve its goal of stalling patrols within New York proper.

Bethlehem Station has been determined compromised by a particularly adept couple of LN agents. From the scarce reports we could gather, the pair of LN ace pilots both fly Patriot light fighters with anti-capital class energy weapons mounted as their sole offensive means. We've cautioned legionnaires operating close to Bethlehem to avoid further engagement with them until more information is available. Not much remained of combat craft sent in to get a closer look.

Xeno activity has been increasing in all sectors within Pennsylvania. We have recorded statements by a Xeno Alliance pilot that the Alliance is competing with us over Liberty asset elimination for the favor of local Militants. The pilot implied any confrontation with them would be a "Bad Look". Log as follows:

Our most recent operation was assisted by an independent Xeno pilot named Hayden Kramer. As of writing this report, I've ensured the man remains on friendly terms with us and is too inebriated to leave Pinnacle. It was subtly implied to him that he may have a chance to talk to someone higher up. My personal recommendation is to take a chance with Mr Kramer.

Our highlight of today was the Pennsyvalnia Division's second flight to Erie. As the effects of the earlier diversion dwindle, we are starting to meet heavier resistance from local Navy assets. The Task Force was successful in dealing almost total losses to the oppressor, though at significant cost in snubcraft.

I would like to applaud the idea Initiate Ivy Noire had during her officer exam, to use digital avatar decoys in a guerrilla capacity. She proposed using groups of four operating as forward recon units in multiple sectors, concealing the location of our actual main force. Once numbers around Erie thinned out in search of digital ghosts, Battle Group Incursus entered Erie orbit proper undisturbed and carried out the operation. The Initiate's gun camera footage during the main assault is included as part of her promotion examination:



I was initially concerned a Vibe Pilot would not mesh well with some elements within our ranks, but am happy to report she's proven popular. I give my personal recommendation for her promotion to Lieutenant. As the snubcraft's camera was melted around 2/3rds into the fight, I'll also relay events from that moment onwards.

Our wing recognized the opponent's tactic of rotating its members in a spherical pattern to expose our vanguard to heavy fire, and exploited that to a number advantage. We quickly decimated the opponent group to its elite components, a 46th pilot and a Navy pilot who was given lower target priority and remained a singleton, allowed the right of duel. The Navy pilot proceeded to eat through two of our damaged combatants, one against one, before attempting to emergency dock on Harrisburg Station. Noticing my approach, he reached escape velocity from behind the station's energy collector panels, heading for New York.

As our campaign in the Pennsylvania system continues, your biological selves have continued to prove worth of carrying on the Legion's legacy, and in so doing once more necessitate an update to Promethean command strata.

Initiate Ivy Noire has earned her Burning Wings, and is promoted to Lieutenant for keen initiative and prowess in the field.

Lieutenant Kurt Walters to Major for his unwavering dedication to the Legion and exemplary service record.

Commander Sussan Carmine to Fleet Captain, joining the ranks of Roland Freud and Yukiko Hideyoshi. Fleet Captain Carmine will report back to Valravn for Special Assignment, after which she will assume her own command at Pinnacle.

Today we pressed on the blueshirts outside West Point and Erie today.

At first, we launched from Pinnacle, about 6 or so of us, including a single friendly Xeno, Once we passed Erie, we had eyes on the LNS Beast, a Atlantis-class Carrier, which uh.. decided death was a preferable alternative to living, and decided to fire on us and we had at him. Never seen so many fighters, not bombers, lay into a capital like that before.


Once the Beast got made into ground beef like the fat cow it was, we pressed towards New York to seek out the Navy to deal with. Lo and behold, our happy asses were met by not one, not two, not three, but *SIX* blueshirts, and an Archer-class, wanting to fuck around and find out. That being said it was a dripfeed of them at first, so Ralar went up to beat the first one to a near pulp before being spaced, leaving Bellamy to blast the blueshirt, if I recall. I tractored him in and brought him aboard the Lovelace Cruiser Motherboard to sit pretty whilst we waited for his spare to roll up. Later, it devolved into a furball, at one point I called on a nearby gunboat, Trashmaid, to delouse our friendly neighborhood Xenoman, but uh.. ended up adding insult to injury to the Primary Fleet guy we were all chasing until Bellamy came back from repairs and rearm at Bethlehem. Whoops.

Finally..

My bomber launched from Bethlehem without warning or notice, apparently by way of some sort of narrow AI subroutine generated by Yoru shortly before she went comatose. It supposedly is some sort of replica, but lacks any sort of emotion, sentience, stuff like that. Doubt it has her memories outside of just knowledge she knew. She left us all a message. I think the drone said there's a message for Yukiko, but since she was absent it didn't play it. Oh. And apparently it helped some Hacker send the Washington to meet its' maker over Erie.

... I hate to do this, but I'm taking a leave of absence to find Her. Hanamura, Miss Lilith, whatever you want to call her, fucked off with her to Cambridge to seek out someone who knows the two of them, but given what Freud said, and a niggling feeling something might happen, I want to be sure she's okay, and get her some homegrown help.

That being said, the bot's in both of my ships. It'll answer support calls from anyone but it's got admin rights for the HIGHCOM. Just uh.. keep it on a tight leash around friendly Xenos like Kramer. It almost tried to frag him.

Following up on the last of the MAINLINE runs by Legionnaires Jacaranda Florence and David Randall from two weeks ago, both of whom apparently broke into Fleet Captain Carmine's private stash aboard the Feral Son, got blackout drunk and never wrote up their reports. The typical punishment for this would involve scrubbing Ven'Gyr's latrines, but as Ven'Gyr is not presently in use and we're trying to curry favor with the locals, I'll settle for having the head at Pinnacle clean enough for at least the Xenos to eat off of.

I will admit, I was flying through the Kansas system for no other reason than to contemplate solitude and visit ghosts of the past. There was no good reason for me being there at all. I was not keeping track of my flight path, nor the time. As I flew through the wrecks and debris, I don't know when exactly, five contacts popped up on my scanners.

  • Derelict-Reckoning - Militant Hulk
The Bristol and Gateway ships were hauling, by line, an old Hell class Militant cruiser: The Derelict-Reckoning. Not knowing what to make of this, or the corperate ships' intentions, I contacted Initiate Ben Morgan for back-up and began to follow the convoy. The convoy towing the Reckoning at that point jumped from Kansas into the Pennsylvanian System.

Once we arrived in the Pennsylvania System, I was able to interrogate the corporate ships as to what they were doing with the old Reckoning. While they didn't provide me with a straight answer, they did say it was a gift for some friends and their course indicated it was headed to Pinnacle Station. I followed, monitoring the convoy. At about that time, Initiate Morgan arrived, as well as some scattering of Liberty Rogue ships.

Initiate Morgan and myself kept watch as the Rogues escalated the situation. It seemed to the best of my understanding that the Rogues had claimed the derelict Hel for themselves, or at least wished to. Not having any love of the rabble myself, and much rather having the old hull end up on Pinnacle where it may be of some use to our cause than as some trophy for a Rogue kingpin, I requested clarification of Bristol's intentions. As soon as Bristol returned the affirmative that their 'friend' they were donating the ship to was aligned with the Militant cause, Initiate Morgan and myself engaged to defend Reckoning and the corporate convoy.

Between us and Bristol, the rogues were delt with swiftly. The Hel's old hulk was brought to the mooring platform at Pinnacle. At this point, the Bristol ships dispersed. As far as I can tell, the Reckoning is still moored with Pinnacle as of now.

Aight.

Couple things.

First up, Crowe, Struikas, and With, when available should report to El Alto, preferably bringing your primary fighter craft. Got some things to give 'em to keep 'em sharp. Still got that thing for Crowe in my office, too, so come get that while you're here.

Second, got stripes to dish out. Crow, without the 'e', the Exarchy has watched you with interest. You're keeping the flame alight, and doing Drake Thastus proud. More importantly, you're keeping true the Legion's mission to protect the little guy, and that says more than any neural net text can.
Since it seems I spend way too much time looking at spreadsheets and data projections for gear and not people, your official promotion to Lieutenant was overlooked. Responsibilities and perks hashed out, but.. yeah. I'll take that hit. As is tradition, you're to receive the Burning Wings as well; If you want something fancy done about it, stencil or a neat little shiny thing, hit me up.
That said, effective immediately, you are hereby elevated to Commander, with all the perks and responsibilities that come with the position. Enjoy the digs, kiddo. They're plenty fancy.

Launched from Pinnacle for a routine patrol up the New York highway into Colorado, and consequently, backwards; flight up north went mostly uneventful, however, a response force has intercepted my ship at Colorado Gate - Fort Bush lane. Linked up with major Walters shortly after crossing with a First fleet pilot, later joined with by a fighter from the Fifth fleet. After verbal discussion quickly deteriorated into hitting a brick wall of deliberate delusions, encounter quickly escalated into combat. The heated skirmish resulted in destruction of both Navy fighters, with major's ship suffering moderate damage.
