There is no sense in using Alaska as a trade route, ever. If you are a Zoner you are endangering relations for all other Zoners in Liberty. Whether it is profitable or not should not be relevant; this is a roleplay server. This means if you are a Junker you do not get to land on Kusari planets or corporate stations, and if you are a Zoner you stay out of Alaska for the benefit of others.
It doesn't matter what people allow you to do, or what you think you can get away with. There is roleplay involved. Not only in terms of "I am smuggler, you are police HA HA CANT CATCH ME! Look, I'm docking on Manhattan ha ha ha!" but in thinking about what you're doing before you actually do it.
The point has been brought up before. People will shoot you if you use alaska. Your attitude is not helping your case.

closing it is basically saying "meh meh i dont wanna have to RP so im gonna either have 100% access to the system or none at all". However, adding another route, like my aforementioned JH idea, would fix this.

Seeing as how most of admins aint here right now No Decision will be made but i dont see joe allowing smugglers another route to newyork.
Dont get me wrong he is great at rp but they want total controll and that aint happenin. That and last time i saw joe he went emo.

No, it isn't. In-RP, the Gates would *constanly* be guarded by craploads of fighters on the NY side and a whole battlefleet on the Alaska side, and the door would be locked down and unlocking it would require information that is classified as above top secret.
No, really. Locking it down for everybody but the groups which actually *do* have a RP reason to be there is just logical and prevent tons of ooRP behavior.

Lets see, how long did it take Juni to log the codes into the Alaska JG, a few minutes? And they was with stolen codes, you know how long it would take to hack it without the codes.
And yes, there was no code hacking on the other side, but since that was the only way in or out of the system the Navy must have simply neglected to put a lock on that side because they never thought someone would even get in in the first place.
