WMDs would mean something that does massive damage. In-game, this would be the Nova torpedo. Something that does a lot of damage to a large area.
In roleplay, it'd be something that poses a threat to installations. Humanity loves to make bigger bombs.
Edit: Osilion, even if every single battleship crashed into Manhattan, nothing would realistically change. The scale in this game is uber-borked.
