Maybe it has something to do with your inability to shoot stuff rather than with ships armor? Just sayin' Yes fights are bit longer. But it's better than 15 second.. pew pew, splash, boom, kapoheee! In longer group fights you can actually organize something. Feel the team work, that is of course, if you have a team. Also then you have more armor all random luck boom booms are more forgiving, which puts skill into account rather than luck as more important factor in fights. Some people doesn't prefer that way, but, personaly, I don't care. Becouse I'm not one of those people. And one on one fights are fine. Are ships too tough? - Knjaz - 05-04-2011 Umm... seriously, why not just increase fighter weapon projectile speed for a start? Just that. It wont affect fighter vs gb and up fights, including transports, it will give fighter escorts an actual chance to kill a bomber before it kills the transport/capship. I really dont see drawbacks with just increasing fighter weapon speed, in current situation. (if we agree that bombers aren't dying too fast to a fighter escort, that is) On the other hand, increasing fighter weapon damage, changing fighter armour, b/b will affect too many situations to quickly balance it out. Are ships too tough? - Hone - 05-05-2011 Or increase all weapon speeds, otherwise fighters get an advantage. (And missile range/turning too. As faster gun speed = more range) Are ships too tough? - Hielor - 05-05-2011 ' Wrote:Or increase all weapon speeds, otherwise fighters get an advantage. You can keep the range on guns the same while increasing speed. Also, many classes of ships (I'm thinking gunboats) don't need faster guns. Are ships too tough? - Hone - 05-05-2011 ' Wrote:You can keep the range on guns the same while increasing speed. Here: ' Wrote:You can keep the range on guns the same while increasing speed.Gunboat weapons are already twice as fast as fighter weapons. They don't have any trouble hitting fighters and that won't change. Are ships too tough? - Hone - 05-05-2011 Yes but I think weapon range should be increased. And even if it isnt, this will re balance the current setup of fighter vs gb, which the simple "increase weapon speed" idea was avoiding. Fighter weapon range is fine. If they are balanced now, then changing one thing will unbalance them. ' Wrote:Why should weapon range be increased? Fighter weapon range is fine. 700m ranges for space fighters seems weirdly low when you consider the current range of fights for air fighters a millenium earlier (aka today). |
