Pretty sure it is 9k, because some people instantly use their Battleship Cloak Disruptor when they hear it. At least it worked against me always.

That's because the disruptor range is 9k for battleships, 6k for cruisers, 3k for the snub.
The hearing range is still roughly 4k. It was just a lucky guess.

The IMG's faction feedback thread isn't the place for nitpicking the faction leader's personal RP, unless it has a direct impact on the faction as a whole. I'd suggest that if you think the character in question breaks the rules, you submit a report and set out your reasons why. If you don't want to submit a report but rather asked the question in the spirit of genuine curiosity, I'm sure a PM would adequately do the trick.
