So, where did you get your name from? - Vodkthx - 12-06-2011 It describes my status. So, where did you get your name from? - Sabre120 - 12-09-2011 Back when I first started playing Freelancer I was obsessed with it. Once I got the Sabre, my life was complete hah! I then tried to have Sabre as my username on Runescape, however it was taken and gave me the choice of three others, one being Sabre120. Since then, 8 years ago, I have continued to use it as a username on every website I go on, and my xbox live gamertag. So, where did you get your name from? - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 12-10-2011 I'm using this pseudoname for about 4-5 years or so. Language differs depending on where it is used. If in places populated by lithuanians it will be "... kur nubėgo?" which in english means "... where did it run?". But english language sucks a bit for this. Why? - because if you want to have gramaticly correct structure I must use pronoun in a question. While in native version "who" is apparent. Making the question to look more abstract and void in the same time. How I came up with one? that was my answer to random people at school asking me to share my cigarettes with them. Showing that I'm totaly not intrested in statisfying their needs I would ask them "... kur nubėgo?" instead of a proper answer or sharing a smoke. By using that question.. trying to play dumb which is of course obviuos. That way it turns into mocking rather than anything else. So people in my school who weren't actually in any relationship with me and knew me only from public eye started to call me "... kur nubėgo?". Since I needed a name which is quite silly and which I like I started to use it as my nickname. So, where did you get your name from? - Tachyon - 12-12-2011 One of my chars. Kaze, because it means Wind in japanese, a culture and people that i always adored. Portugal, especially the region where i live is windy, and we see it as a force of nature, something to be reckoned with. Dagon came out of a corruption of dragon, french or swiss, dunno which one, due to a special tattoo of mine 8| Silver, because, hells, i love silver, more than gold or any other metal. Shinny and valuable. And here, it has a little thing to do with Death. Umber? Because it cames originally from Umbra, shadow in Latin. Or maybe from Umbria, been there once, loved those hills. Mine is more boring... I made up languages when I was in high school (Tolkien nerd). When I was thinking up an "alien" name on another site I used one of these languages, taking "pellun" (hammer) and "baranuedh" (to cleanse, purify) and a suffix (-du) to create "Pelbarandu" or "Hammer of Purification." When I got well-known on that site, everyone called me Pel, so now that's what I use. |
