The Kusari Exiles - Zelot - 01-03-2012 ' Wrote:Now, here's the point I made in the last thread on this topic. That is something I have always felt is better played out in-game. The plans I have for playing that out ingame are going to happen in a couple ways. We are going to strictly limit cap use to the numbers in the storyline. When a cap ship is shot down, it will not be played for 2 months (or something along those lines) and rp will be done to bring in the supplies to fix the ship. Ronin will be under strict orders to retreat rather than lose their ships. We will be a quick hit and run squad, you will not find us hanging around for long battles except in extreme circumstances, such as to help defend an important Ronin or Bretonian installation. Ronin will be using transports to do trade interdiction as well as the supplies and credit they get from Bretonia, which really cant be much considering the overall position that the Bretonians are in. I have also been thinking about rationing certain tech that might be hard to get or replace, as well as rationing ammunition, such as you can only have this many nuke mines, TCD or Countermeasures in a particular amount of time. Point of the story is that we will be playing like we have limited supplies, like we are a ragtag group far from home, pretty much dependent on ourselves and what little help we can get from our hosts. Hey, now that you know what a crap treaty is like to read, could you send GMG a decent one? That'd be peachy. The Kusari Exiles - West - 01-03-2012 ' Wrote:Hey, now that you know what a crap treaty is like to read, could you send GMG a decent one? It's not my job, but job of NEW government.. which should be ruled by Kishiro.. but those guys can't decide who should be incharge. And this is not thread about Kusari-GMG relations. The Kusari Exiles - Unseelie - 01-03-2012 Sounds like brilliant fun, Zelot. Why hasn't it been included in the proposal? It's been a long time since my last faction proposal, alot has changed, look at the AFA one, you will see the things that expected to be listed out is a lot more detailed now, and its hard to teach on old dog new tricks. But point taken and it will be added. The Kusari Exiles - Dane Summers - 01-03-2012 ' Wrote:But Samura will supply us. Cool - then I'm all for seeing Privateer's, whose sole duty is to poach any Samura ships coming to help the ronin - afterall, as long as the Ronin are weak enough to be an ally, they wont get delusions of stupidity, and start claiming Leeds belongs to them. Again. - As to Zelot's idea of keeping destroyed caps out of commission for months, rp'ing supply runs to fix them up - cool as hell! Now just follow through, because temptation is always hard to resist! The Kusari Exiles - Aphil - 01-03-2012 ' Wrote:But Samura will supply us.Yes, that's great and all but assuming they are supplying you in the first place how exactly are they going to accomplish that? I mean, Tau-31 is blockaded by the Gallic Navy, the Kusari Government has signed a peace treaty with Gallia... I really don't think it would be the smartest thing to supply a guerrilla force that openly opposes Gallia. At-least, not if Kusari wants to survive. Assuming, of course you decide to ignore that, keep in mind that the only way to Bretonia without crossing Tau-31 is through Rheinland and Liberty. Assuming your transports will be pirated and some destroyed, I don't think Samura will be willing to take that risk. Of course, I'm just thinking logically and objectively. Assuming your transports will be pirated and some destroyed, I don't think Samura will be willing to take that risk. by that rational no one would trade anywhere because of pirates. Aside from that there is a self interest for Samura in supporting the Ronin. They want a return of the old government as much as the Ronin want to see a return of the old government. The Kusari Exiles - Aphil - 01-03-2012 Actually, they would. Why? Because there are still profits involved. No one's going to risk ships, lives and money for charity work though, and that's what it seems like when it comes to the Ronin. Unless you've someone managed to stash away a lot of Credits, the fact is you won't be able to pay for the supplies. Not without Bretonia's help anyway. And no pay = no supplies. Not to mention, I doubt Samura would risk lucrative contracts with Gallia just to supply the Ronin. Edit to respond to Zelots addition: Sure, I imagine there is Samura interest in supporting the Ronin, but the fact is you're not going to be able to depend on Samura while you're stranded in Bretonia. I don't understand what's so difficult about understanding the situation, Gallia see's Samura supplying the Ronin, Gallia freaks out, Kishiro gets the contracts in Gallia, Samura loses massive influence and wealth as Kishiro has a Kusari Monopoly on trade with Gallia. Sorry, but despite all this "FOR THE EMPEROR" stancing, it makes zero sense for Samura to risk it all just for the tiny chance that a relatively tiny force can re-take Kusari. The Kusari Exiles - Unseelie - 01-03-2012 West is correct. I currently roleplay three ships that permadie when killed, two of whom are traders with rather strict limitations on the funds they make (I deposit most of the profits on a faction bank, and pay insurance on the vessel, and pay pirates rather more than they ask) to make the whole experience rather more dramatic. I have at times, in a supertransport, found myself shipping less than full holds because I cannot afford the full load. This additional challenge adds quite a spice to the game. |
