Considering that these indies are doing IC| no favours, then it begs the question why IC| chose to defend those very same indies.

Edit: I'm not saying it was a bad decision, I want to know why IC| tried to take responsibility for something which they obviously could not influence.

' Wrote:Sorry, but the simple fact is that IC| brought this upon themselves by refusing to curb independents hauling to the Hessians. *shrug* You gotta look from our side, we simply cannot allow people to haul to what we see as a terrorist organization (I'm speaking as a BDM| ), the Government HAS to be seen as doing SOMETHING to stop it, IC was asked to curb this but they kept side-stepping it and demanding their indies be allowed to keep hauling in Rheinland and possibly continuing the supplying to the Red Hessians.

I'm sorry but I find your explanation to rather be that of person or group that just wants to ruin the fun of another person/group. You darn well know that the IC| leadership can only do so much regarding IC indies and forcing them to not supply Hessian bases is not something they can do.

Instead of acting with a level head and not being arses about it, you did what you saw as the easiest thing to do. Ban all of IC so you don't have to continually police their indies. Then you complain that IC| did exactly what their official status requires of them - they stood up not only for themselves but for the indy players sharing their NPC faction.

I won't say it is bad role play because it isn't - I will say that the characters (not the players) running the rheinland government are stupid. They're effectively destroying their own nation by doing what they've done.

Perhaps you should think about exactly who will come in and pay for all the rebuilding of of Rheinland after the current government falls? Yep. IC will. All they've done is ensure that a government that doesn't suit them will be destroyed and likely replaced with one that will be more willing to work with them.

It is one of responsibilities of official faction. I think.

Quote:RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH RIGHT 2

2) Official factions that are attempting to represent the entirety of a NPC affiliation have the responsibility to be caretakers of the history and evolving storyline of the NPC faction in such a way that it remains open to involvement by non-player faction affiliates to the extent that is permitted by the server rules. Official factions have a responsibility to incorporate willing and responsible "independent" characters belonging to their NPC faction affiliation into the ordinary operations and activities taking place in the faction's territory as much as possible. Official faction members have the responsibility to set a high standard of roleplaying within character, as well as courtesy and respect during all OOC communications. Official faction members should strive to follow the spirit of the server rules to the best of their ability, and avoid rules-lawyering, loopholing, or exploiting their knowledge for personal gain. Official factions should strive to be the primary instigators of fun within the faction affiliation, and excel as problem solvers and conflict resolution experts when there are player difficulties.

Yeah, I guess you could extrapolate it to be that.

We didn't ban them, they refused to negotiate with Rheinland on the terms/take action. The lockdown was temporary while the government contacted IC to discuss the terms. However everyone overreacted and took this emergency step, which was only intended as a temporary measure to cut supplies to the hessians, as much more than what it was. This overreaction fueled the radical response of IC cutting out completely from Rheinland, they were offered to be able to remain in Rheinland -and- keep their current deal so long as they came down on their private contractors, which more than likely could have been negotiated down from an outright ban of them from Rheinland.

The refusal to do so was the option chosen by IC not Rheinland.

In other words, an economic sanction got misinterpreted, things escalated and we now have a bit of a strudelstorm... Which might even be more fun then the alternative.

Hey.
What will the RFP do once all the IC indies start avoiding Rheinland?

Might get to hybernation mode.

They should probably ask for tips from the KSP.

Not sure, what Bommel will say to this, but I think we will be kept busy defending Krupptown against the many sabotage attempts;)
