In the course my normal patrol in the Omega system today, I had basic encounters with an assortment of Hessians, Corsairs, and other assorted scumbags. In other words, your usual patrol.

However, I did also manage to pick up one more additional special cargo item. That means that I now have four of the darn things sitting in my cargo bay, and quite frankly, I'm a bit nervous about having them there. I'd REALLY like to get rid of them. I have redeployed from Rostock to Capetown simply for safety's sake of the items - and that way, just in case I get in over my head through no fault of my own, that I don't lose the darn things.

S/D-Menthe rendezvous'd with me at Cambridge where the Prisoners were picked up
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm447/P...rPC/screen3.jpg

At which point agent Menthe escorted me to New Berlin to drop off the prisoners, there were a few minor skirmishes against Hessian grunts.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm447/P...rPC/screen4.jpg

We then proceeded to Capetown, agent Menthe informed me that he hadn't been assigned to Omega yet. He proved to be calm in the face of a Corsair Titan wing. At Capetown we rendezvous'd with agent Max to retrieve the confidential cargo I've heard about, what a nice surprise.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm447/P...rPC/screen5.jpg

With Max as Lead Escort and Menthe as his Wingman, the procession continued on to pickup diamonds at Rostock. Both Max and Menth held back a wing of Titans and Hessians, as I picked up the cargo and made a run for the jump hole.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm447/P...rPC/screen8.jpg

Clearly we made an impression as our group made it's way to Cambridge Research Center with both agent clearing the path from LWB and Hessians. At one point our trade lane was disrupted by Abyssion. No conflict arose as no doubt a lone pirate couldn't handle the double escort. At Cambridge the special cargo was dropped off, and I reimbursed Max for his find. Max was thanked and went to complete his next assignment.

Agent Menthe escorted me for the last leg of the trip, with two minor skirmishes with Corsairs and Gaians. I have to commend S/D-Menthe, It was alot of distance travelled and he has put his life on the line many times on that trip.

Mission complete.

End ... oh, wait, you wanted pictures, didn't you?

Okay, let's get this wrapped up - I need a drink after that one, boss.

Things started normally - met S/D Provider and Menthe in O-56, and we escorted the cargo as mentioned in the previous report. Since I was unaware of any way to jump from Cambridge to Omega 5 at this point, I went to Dublin via New London (cleared it with S/D Provider first) so I could get back in my ZOI, and start exploring the Omegas for this system.

During my explorations, I was ambushed by several more Hessians than I could handle, and I found a way from Omega 5 into Cambridge. While enroute to refill with bots and bats, I ran into a pirate named rockafeller shaking down a merchant. In scanning the pirate, rockafeller, I saw that he had 4 Bounty Hunter pirates in his cargo hold. I politely asked him to allow me to return those pilots to our base, and he agreed. In the meantime, QCO Aubrey was asking for help because there was a Liberty Rogue gunship running around in Cambridge, so I ran over to help him, and just me showing up made the gunboat jump out. Got back down to Battleship Norfolk, made sure APM-Aries (who was just passing through) made it to Cambridge safely (no pirates in the lane this time), and headed back out again.

Found a passage to Omega 55 from Omega 5.
Omega 55 from Omega 5

Immediately ran into a flight of 5 Valkyrie fighters that I ran from. Went flying through the system, saw a planet that I never could get a name for, and also ran into what must've been a cloaked Corsair gunboat, because he sure didn't show up on my Long Range Scanners. I could not get footage of him as I was evading 5 MORE fighters at the time. I did talk to the pilot, at least - he appeared to have a computer malfunction, as he was waiting for a server reset.

Omega 55 planet

Here's the basic map of the system, with one feature missing because it doesn't show up on this map.

Main Omega 55 map

Here's the feature missing - a path into Omega-58

Omega 55 into Omega 58

Omega 58 entrance

There are disturbing things going on in Omega 58...

Nomad jump gates

Incomplete Nomad Jump Gates

And here's the map of Omega 58 as a bonus - I couldn't find another path out of there, either.

Omega 58 map

This is the close-up of the way from Omega 55 into Omega 11, so if you're in Omega 11 at Solarius Station and feel like running into a ton of Wild Valkyrie fighters...

Omega 55 into Omega 11

I did have to utilize one - and ONLY one - burst data transmission to a relay ship. (Again, the APM-Aries was handy on my comm channel.) I can handle and evade 5 fighters pretty well. 10 of them was a little much, even for me. I'm honestly not sure how I made it back to Solarius station - no bots, no bats, no mines, no flares - I ran out of ALL of them evading these guys.

Okay - I'm going to the bar for a drink now. I need a GOOD Texas Iced Tea after this mission.

Engaged in normal mission from BHG in Rostock. That took a while, but actually at no time was I actually in any danger. Ended up with a full cargo hold when all said and done, though - along with leaving a LOT of debris in space.

Of course, with this many pilots crammed into my cargo hold, I did have a couple of messes to clean up.

Also in the course of things, a Harvester and an Explorer were wandering around the system. I could not maintain contact long enough to get a good scanner image - however, they were talking on system radio about increading a Junker ID tag. The Explorer was in a Kusair ship, the Harvester in a Corsair gunboat. I apologize for not getting shots, but there were other (Hessians, mostly) distractions.
