Recovered from the escape pod of a Raven's Talon-Class Very Heavy Fighter two kilometers out from the Omega-52 Jumphole in early 816A.S after the ship was detected tailing a Coalition patrol, early interviews by the Commissariat established 'Akira' (as the pilot chose to identify herself) as a potential recruit for the Fighter Corps. Akira admitted to prior service in the Kusari Naval Forces, stating her resignation from them was a result of discriminatory policies maintained by the Imperial ruling family [UPDATE-819A.S: The eviction of the Emperor and his loyalists from Kusari space and the establishment of a Republic has not resulted in a change in Ex-Lieutenant Akira's expressed views in standard screening. Operatives of HWE have been dispatched for further monitoring.].

Mentions of Akira's life prior to the Coalition have proved suspiciously difficult to locate on public channels; however, HWE has been able to piece together an approximate outline of her activities prior to enlistment from third-party sources and house neural-net sites.

Mikimoto Academy in Oyaka has records of four Miyagi Akiras graduating in 811A.S. Two of the four are accounted for on later tertiary documentation, studying business and agriculture, specifically. Further records are stored on local servers, and the subject does not constitute sufficient risk to warrant the deployment of SCRA assets for confirmation. However; it appears likely that Akira's claim of birth on Honshu was not fabricated.

The next mention of Akira comes in 813A.S, as an independent racer in the New Tokyo Mach League, a large atmospheric racing event sponsored by the Kusari Navy. Agents in-country reported that the race was intended as a demonstration of the so-called superiority of KNF craft. Government papers forwarded to His Watchful Eye in 815A.S supported this conclusion, with the defeat of dedicated atmospheric craft by KNF spacecraft intended to intimidate dissident groups and cement Kusari's military dominance in the sector in the light of recent incursions by the Outcasts and Chrysanthemums. As the second-youngest racer, and youngest female to complete, Akira attracted a higher-then-usual media presence.

Engine failure during a steep climb in the semi-finals resulted in a crash that left Akira in New Tokyo's Central Hospital for six months. [UPDATE-816A.S: Cause of failure found by inquest to be loss of control in tail stabilator. Possibility of sabotage by Kusari Government to solidify position possible, but unlikely, as Akira was not at risk of taking the lead.] News coverage of the crash was intense, but faded after an initial outpouring of sympathy. Akira's resultant spinal injury was severe enough to disqualify her from further atmospheric flight.

Records are sparse until 814A.S, where Akira's likeness appears in a publication of Kusari Naval Forces Recruits for that year. Curiously, her image does not appear on the graduation certification for that same course. As Kusari Naval Forces personnel records are beyond our reach at this time, it is safe to assume that Akira either voluntarily discharged after witnessing the true nature of the government she served (as she claims) or was removed from the course for other reasons.

No official records of Akira's activities after departing the KNF are available; however, a Chimera with a tail number matching hers was located on a Java Station scrap yard in 818A.S. Whether this is evidence of decommissioning or unauthorized ship sale is unknown.

When questioned on her activities between 814 and 816A.S Akira claims to have taken on work as a freelancer security contractor and racer. [UPDATE-819A.S: Clandestine interviews of individuals aboard the Battleship Hood, Dublin, report a racer matching Akira's description frequenting their track between 815 and 816A.S. Subjects report the unknown racer flying under the callsign 'Jade.' Possible connection to a little-known Bretonia-based Bounty Hunter operating under the same name is possible, but no further evidence exists to support this assertion as no open communications or records from 'Jade' have been located.].

After her entry into the territory of the Glorious Coalition, and passing initial screening, Akira was sent to the Siberian Ice Field with Militsiya Company Bravo, [Fourth Platoon, Section Three] to undertake final survival testing. Candidates were issued suits and ejected into the field with orders to survive three days. Akira survived, and was promptly inducted into the SCRA as a Lieutenant after the completion of her Hispania Memorandum in 816A.S.

Implicated in a smuggling ring exporting Coalition weapons and technology to outside buyers, Akira was seized by the Commisariat in 817A.S, and found guilty of treason. Lieutenant Akira claimed that she had sought involvement in the ring in order to bring a full report on the group to the attention of His Watchful Eye, and stated that she had written and sent such reports prior to her arrest. No records of such files were found on HWE's databanks; however, a search of Akira's quarters revealed a series of reports typed and recorded as sent on her personal computer. Technical analysts uncovered a series of faults in the computer's connections, and concluded that the failure to send was a result of electronic failings. Akira provided assistance in locating and eliminating the other members of the smuggling ring; however, HWE was not convinced of her sincerity. While all other individuals involved were executed, as befits a traitor to the revolution, Akira was discharged from the Fighter Corps and relocated to JiangXi to serve out a probation period of twelve months.

In order to preserve the image of the Coalition Fighter Corp's, the incident was not publicized outside His Watchful Eye.

Akira deployed to JiangXi in 819A.S with the permission of Premier Erik Meier to, as she stated: 'reclaim my position in the Fighter Corps.'

Smoke drifted through the dark interview room, the faint glow of a lit cigar mirroring the tattered blood-red Coalition banners that hung from the walls. Ashes trailed across the floor as the cigar floated to the other side of the room, bobbing in the grip of a uniformed figure. From the tip of his peaked cap to his gleaming boots, Anton Kahler was the very essence of a Fighter Corps Commissar. His Rheinland-built pistol sat on the desk in front of him, grime and oil showing around the weapon's working parts, the only part of his uniform to be less then immaculate. Kahler snubbed his cigar on the table, leaning over the back of his chair to do so. He was a Commissar. Commissars did not sit, not in the presence of would-be spies. He eyed the pistol with distaste. The grime was acceptable. The pistol was the only part of his uniform that he had been required to kill a man with that day; though it was far from the only tool he was capable of performing the act with.

Opposite him, tiny by comparison, a Kusarian woman, her clothes tattered and stained, sat at the table, fiddling with the screws holding its legs in place and trying to avoid inhaling Kahler's cigar smoke.

"So, Seventeen." Kahler took a moment to square off his cap, one hand on the pistol. "You would have me believe you're not here to spy on us. Let's step outside the realm of possibility for a moment and pretend that I have the faintest reason to believe you."

The woman called Seventeen nodded, black hair bobbing.

"Why are you here, then?" The Commissar leaned in close. Close enough to smell the smoke on his breath and see the nicotine on his teeth. "Our fighters shot you down minutes after you jumped in. Our Marines had to recover your escape pod. Frankly, I'm surprised you made it here without an escort wing to guide you through your cereal!

The Coalition does not need the weak, the infirm. We want soldiers, Seventeen. Soldiers who can think, who can do, who can fight! How can you stand up for the People of Sirius, if you cannot evade a simple patrol?"

Muted clicks ran through the interview room as Seventeen toyed with a screw head, rotating it in its socket. Anton's hand was tight around his pistol before she responded.

"Nine minutes." She looked up at the Commissar, hands falling into her lap, folded in the traditional Kusarian fashion. "It took your security nine minutes to destroy my ship. Two minutes for the automated systems to register a drifting ship without a shield as more then debris. I was out of range of the platforms by then, so you had to send in the fighter wings."

Anton's face curled into a sneer. Another answer like that and the Kusarian would follow Twelve and Six out of Volgograd's domes. Seventeen continued:

"A minute until the first patrol made contact. Another three minutes before Gunboats engaged." Seventeen's lips curled into a thin expression that could have been a smile. "Three minutes. Three minutes evasion of a full assault force in an unshielded, sensor-blind, civilian-grade fighter that had just trekked across the Omegas."

She stretched her fingers out along her knees, wincing where her hands passed over raw flesh - a product of a near miss from an Insurgent's volley fire. "I would not have made it this far if I could not think, Commissar.

As to why I bothered to come..." She swayed to her feet, sauntering across the room to where the tattered Coalition flags hung on the walls. Anton's pistol followed her all the way, the big Commissar watching her like a hawk. She waved vaguely in the direction of the closest one. "I suspect it is much the same as you. Because I believe in what the Coalition represents. What it is. Freedom from the houses that bind us, freedom from the prejudices that divide us. And-" She flashed a wolfish smile. "Freedom from the fools who would enforce them."

"Commissar Dreyev caught you complaining about the seats in the Liberation yesterday." Anton was puffing on another one of his omniscient cigars. He'd learnt to exhale circles recently. It was a trick he planned to demonstrate at the next Fighter Corp's dining in night. "You should be grateful he didn't chose to evacuate you from them."

Akira ceded a shrug, the Militsonyer's insignia on her shoulders rising and falling. It had been days since she had disposed of the tattered remnants of her old clothing, converting to the Coalition's rigid set of uniform regulations. The belt sat uncomfortably on her spine, but at least the Commissars were a bit more human now that she was no longer labelled an Alliance spy.

"Commissar Dreyev has my apologies." Akira said. "I never intended any disrespect to him or his gunship." She may have been in the Coalition now, but the position of a Militsonyer was a very delicate one. "The trip was... Not what I expected."

Anton took another draw of his cigar. A dirty, pungent thing, Akira had only learnt recently that; like his ammunition, Anton imported the cigars from Rheinland. He claimed they, and the beer, were the only good things the Chancellor's Rheinland had produced. "And what did you expect? Flowers and champagne? A nice little origami contest to stir the soul?"

"Iie." She shook her head. "The jolt was unexpected. That was all." She paused, seemingly uncertain of how to continue. "The Coalition has given me what I expected. People I share beliefs with, and a way to strike back at Kusari. If that means an uncomfortable seat, Commissar, I can deal with that."

Anton nodded, and killed the video feed.

[[Sender ID: -Artem Chernovec

Name: Artem Chernovec
Age: 37
Origin: Unknown
Gender: Male

Biography:
My name is Artem Chernovec, I am honestly not sure where I was born - all information regarding that has been lost, all I know is that I was sborn in 783 A.S. My fathers name is Alexander Chernovec who was a Coalition citizen, working on Zhukovsky Station training new pilots for the SCRA. My mother Ruby Chernovec did not have any job or such and was a typical stay-at-home mother, she was married to my father for five years as far as I know. When I was a year old, an intruder broke into our quarters on Zvezdny Gorodok and murdered my mother, sending my father into deep depression and paranoia. For my own safety, he sent me to live with my Aunt Kourt on planet Cambridge where I spent my childhood living a comfortable life. When I turned 18, I enrolled in the Cambridge Flight Academy - graduating with quite good scores. My fortune soon took a turn for the worse as I recieved news that my father was dying, prompting me to take him back to our home, Omega-52. He died soon after and I took up work on Shukovsky station for the newspaper, seven years later and I became tired of the monotonous, albeit noble work of the Coalition press. And so I decided to apply for travel documents, vacationing on Manhattan, Tokyo, Berlin which all turned out to be horrendously capitalist - sickeningly capitalist in fact that I returned to Omega-52 as soon as I could. Upon my return I enlisted in the Militia, running patrols around the Omegas and occasionaly in Rheinland with the Hessians and their allies; however, when Katya Vaschenko became Premier-Colonel, I fled to Gran Canaria - our views on communism were definitely not on par. I recently became informed that Alvin Katz is returning, news that delights me very much and reaffirming my faith in the strength of the Coalition and pushing me to apply to the SCRA Primary Fleet, Katz is the leader the Coalition and her people need, and I will fight for both of them.

Reasons for wanting to join the SCRA:
I wish to destroy the corruption of capitalism that feeds on the freedom of the Sirian people and to protect my noble people in our glorious Revolution.

What do you expect to find within the SCRA:
Brotherhood, professionalism - a cause to fight for, not money or glory, for our communist ideals and for our great people.
