RE: The Blood Money - Freeport One Edition - - Silver - 05-05-2013

"A man who won't die for something is not fit to live."

The moment O'Reilly heard that man asking for a Shot of Death, he nodded like it was everyday's business. He quickly grabbed two glasses, and placed them in front of the man.

And with a precision move, he lowered himself to grab a bottle of Jack Daniels, which he promptly placed in front of the man again, but he pushed it to the side to let it slide to two already waiting hands.

Silver's hands.

Meier's eyes followed the bottle that was sliding in front of him, and then it noticed the hands that grabbed it.

Silver pulled the bottle up and smacked Meier's head with it. Making a loud dry thump sound.

People around obviously looked at what was happening.
Silver turned, shrugged and shouted.

"What? He badmouthed O'Reilly!"

Everyone cheered at the development.
After all, O'Reilly was the local patron.
Almost a god to the people that visited the bar.

Meier was knocked out cold in the floor and Silver called two of the Security Team guarding the entrance to 'take the trash out'.

With the two glasses in hand and the bottle, Silver followed them, merrily whistling a tune.

O'Reilly couldn't help to sigh and kept cleaning the counter.

Mike walks into The Blood Money, receiving the spotlight of the room. He tries to ignore the eyes while he walks to the bar-counter. The silence stops and the public returns to their conversations afterwards. Mike gets the attention of the bartender.

Cerulean sent me. Told me to wear a rose.

Returning from the hunt, Cerulean walked into the Blood Money and cracked his knuckles. A bouncer tried to get his attention as he passed by: "There someone at the bar for-" Before the man could finish, Cerulean interrupted him: "Yes, yes, I've got it, I've got it. Thanks for the heads-up."

Cerulean quickly approached the bar. No-one in particular stood out. He signaled the bartender. "Someone here for me?" The bartender nodded towards Mike. "That's him." "Much obliged," Cerulean replied, "I'll be over there," he pointed at an empty booth, "I'll have a beer to start with. Tell Mike drinks are on me, and send him over, alright?"

After hearing Mike was sent by Cerulean, the bartender walks off, assuring him that he'd be right back.

When the bartender returned, Mike was looking at some photos before ripping them down the middle and discarding of them. He gets up and follows the man to the Reaver.

Mike sits down across from Cerulean, keeping eye contact.

This isn't going to be a casual interview, is it?

Just after Mike sat down, a waitress arrived with the beer Cerulean had ordered. Ignoring the applicant's question, Cerulean sat and watched as the waitress put down his beer in front of him.

He signaled the waitress to stay as he took a sip of his beer. It wasn't the most exciting kind. After all, that's what you get for ordering "a beer".

"A pleasure to meet you, Mike," Cerulean finally said, "Now, what would you like to drink?"

RE: The Blood Money - Freeport One Edition - - VerbalArtist - 05-06-2013

Anything, really.

Mike wonders whether it is wise to be under the influence in the midst of a professional killer. It could just cost him a limb. He decides on a safer choice.

On second thought, just water.

The waitress walks off, leaving the two men to discuss.

Cerulean chuckled. "Water, eh? Doesn't hurt to be sober, I suppose." He stretched his back, and continued: "If you've only just gotten back from shooting out-of-control toasters in the Sigmas, however, water just doesn't suffice."

He reached out his hand for a handshake. "Oh, I almost forgot. I'm Cerulean. You must be Mark."

He smiles, shaking the Reaver's hand.

It's nice to see manners haven't died out. Been a while since the last time I walked into a bar..

Mike winces, remembering that night. He calls back over the waitress to change his order.

I'll have whatever he's having.

She walks off again, obviously annoyed. Mike returns focus onto his chat with Cerulean.

It's Mike.

"Mike. Mark. All the same to me," Cerulean spoke in a joking tone.

He finished his beer in one large sip. After he'd put his glass back on the table, the waitress returned with Mike's drink. As she was putting it down on the table, Cerulean went through his pockets to find a credit card.
With a playful smile, he pushed his empty beer glass towards the far end of the table, forcing the waitress to bend over. As she did so, he slipped a credit card down her top.
The young woman pretended to ignore what had happened, and promptly walked back towards the bar.

"Now. About your biography. All I know about you right now is that you managed to get yourself into trouble, lost someone dear to you in the process, and - most recently - lost your job. Why should I be interested in hiring you?"
