I wanted to join Bretonia because it seemed the least corrupt and I've always wanted to take on Gallia and stop them from taking over

Motivation for joining the Bretonia Armed Forces: Digging up lost memories.
Short biography: My latest history has been quite strange. I woke up to find myself on Battleship Harlow after a who knows how long sleep. Last I remember I was flying for the BAF as they led a counter assault on Liberty through Magellan. I was part of a recon party along with a "Challenger" class bomber once we entered the California system. We encountered a couple gunboats and finished one of them while denting the hull of the other before returning to the fleet stationed near the Magellan gate for resupplies. After that it goes bright and I see hazy images of a binary star system, still in my Saishi and fighting what seemed to be an alien vessel of some sort. I get it, I've had amnesia and who knows what else because apparently there has never been a war between Liberty and Bretonia while I remember myself being part of one. Either way, we can either go through this the psychological route and the government can pay for my life support as I go through the therapies or I can move on and 'maybe' encounter some clues as I live my life. I am currently broke and thus need the money, my current ship isn't fit enough for mercenary job and frankly speaking-I'm done with the radical life style myself and looking to settle down and be safe in the hands of the government.
So, here I am, a veteran pilot looking for a rookie's job.

Bretonia has the best Battleship of all factions across Sirius. Besides that, it's just mere nostalgia as I was a clan leader (of the two leaders) for the BAF faction on the Discovery PTC server about 4 years ago.

I knew some good trade routes back in the day but seeing as how I don't yet have any decent ships, I think it will be slow. Would be great if an equipped "Paladin" class heavy fighter and a Firefly could be managed. If not, pretty sure I'll eventually get there.

Short biography:
Born the son of a Liberty Navy Staff Engineer as a mother, and a Father with roots in the Brettonian corporate sector, James grew up on Manhatten. He lives in a well-to-do household, and received private tutoring up to his 16th Birthday, where he took further advanced studies at the Naval Academy. Of the variety of courses available to him, he elected to pursue a career in the operational fleets of Liberty as Intelligence Liaisons officer.
Brief Personal Timeline:
795 - Born on Planet Manhatten
805 - James (age 10, Earth years) and his family are on a transport to visit Bretonia to visit with his Father's family is attacked by Liberty Rogues. The Transport's reactor is damaged, and radiation leaks into the passenger section. James and his family are diagnozed with radiation poisoning, and brought to a hospital in Critical state.
806 - Narrowly surviving, at the age of 11 Jame's father commits suicide do to an inability to live with cancer. Jame's mother transfers custody of him to her sister, being unable to care for him do to grief
809 After years of private study and therapy, James (age 14) is enrolled at the Manhatten Pre-Collegiate School
811 - James (age 16) graduates from MCS as class valedictorian.

Despite -hating- the appearance of Bretonian ships, I like the solidity of the BAF and the playerbase behind it.

Absolutely. Assuming the starting costs wont' be ridiculously high
And lastly, since you are interested in the BAF, maybe you would also like to join the Bretonia Police Authority, the Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing, Bowex or Gateway.
