RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Bootsiuv - 08-29-2013 Ok....Kaz, you know I like you. So, I've been quiet about this as I think it's your rp and your entitled to it. I am a little concerned though, even with the new id you've created. May I ask how the Vagrant Raiders came to have the manpower inrp to take over systems which organizations such as the Rogues or Lane Hackers could not? Your sort of just plunking a new house down in the middle of Sirius. Then, you give yourselves the ability to pirate in almost everywhere but Bretonia, Liberty, and Kusari (which I assume you'll attempt to ally with eventually, if you haven't already), all the while being considered lawful paramilitary in Liberty, Bretonia, and NO space. It just seems like it still isn't restrictive enough. Get rid of the ability to pirate in every place but the Taus and Omegas. If your determined to be Rheinland's enemy, then make it the omegas and Rheinland only. You simply have too much of a good thing with this id as it currently stands. Inrp, if NO is able to somehow justify how it now has the manpower to take over two systems, one of which is already inhabited (not sure if kansas has a npc base or not, can't remember), then do so. What are your relations with the rogues, and lane hackers, both of whom have inhabited NO space for far longer than you have? Just a few questions. I like the idea, but I think it's taking it a little far. My advice would be to claim Kansas, as there is little of value there, and Liberty might go for it (although there was a jh to virginia in that system at one time), then if RP dictates that NO has grown and prospered, make further claims if you feel you should. I think an even more toned down idea might be easier to slide into the lore and make a little more sense rp wise. At the end of the day though, I wouldn't mind seeing Kansas active, and I wish you good luck on your bid for officaldom.

Because neither have tried, neither have started making amends to other houses, and neither have decided they wanted to. We have no intentions to ally with Kusari unless the Blood Dragons come into power. I've considered removing the other houses from the piracy ZoI but I don't think I'd act upon it unless we got a consensus not to be QQed at for subbing in the Sigmas. We've made our formal claim over Kansas (which we call New Caledonia). We don't expect anyone to recognize our claim over Humboldt (which we call Victoria), but if they do, hey, that's cool too. I've heard there's conspiracies against us though, so that means we must be doing something right! (bandit) Your feedback and love is appreciated, Boots. I hope to see you around in New Caledonia ![]() EDIT: Added a poll regarding ZoIs. I will abstain from voting to reduce claims of bias. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - EisenSeele - 08-29-2013 Just a heads up regarding the VR adding the Independant Worlds to their piracy ZoI. Bering/Hudson are being cut off from Rheinland JG wise. While they will be still connected to Hamburg via JH, inRP there isn't much of a reason for Rheinland shipping to go through those systems. Kepler and Galileo supposedly sees an ungodly amount of trade traffic with materials that are crucial for the economic continuation of Liberty - and piracy there could end with the VR landing in hot water with Liberty. The Omegas, especially Omega 3 and 7 are the main supply routes for Bretonian interests. With regards to the only politically safe interhouse bordering systems, the Taus and the Sigmas are the only repercussion free routes to pirate for economic warfare, seeing as they only connect Gallia to Kusari, and Kusari to Rheinland respectively. A diplomatically "safe" ZoI for piracy would be something like Gallia, Kusari, Rheinland, Taus, Sigmas. Getting to those areas from your mini-house systems through Bretonia would be a huge logistics issue which you could probably address by getting friendlier with pirate factions in Kusari and Rheinland - given that the Junkers Congress probably wouldn't want to be inconvenienced with a hostile Rheinland after seeing pirate ships basing off of their stations. For Rheinland, at least, Heisenberg (that freelancer base in Koeln) seems to be a viable place to be used as a port of call, and an alternative to basing off of Kreuz in New Berlin. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Kazinsal - 08-29-2013 Another good ZoI to consider, though I feel people will QQ about it being overpowered in some absurd way (as opposed to our current Sirius-wide one which we limit ourselves by choice). Will talk that one over with the rest of command. Getting there is fairly simple. Slip through Baffin. I don't think the TAZ will mind as long as we're not bringing a firefight in with us... and we're not too loud. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - EisenSeele - 08-29-2013 One small problem that I see with your faction is that you've picked rather inactive spots to work in. Rheinland is pretty dry, activity wise - as evidenced by the RHA coming through a bit of a rough patch with activity Kusari is... well... Kusari. And Gallia might as well be one of the toughest places in which to pirate - if you win the lottery and find something worth pirating (or so I hear from the CR| interdiction wing players) Do you have any backup plans with finding more active targets to work against in the future, should you start getting bored? RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Thexare - 08-29-2013 If nothing else, we're hoping it'll get some nearby military people to show up; as much as it may not make perfect sense in-RP for us to be in direct confrontation with them, we genuinely want to stir up activity in the quieter regions of Sirius. If this means we end up getting killed by Chimaeras and Black Dragons instead of by Samura Akegatas, eh, mission accomplished anyway. If literally everything else fails, there's always Corsairs to shoot. They make a convenient target because no one we like likes them. And of course the lawful side of Octavarium needs work too - scouting for traders (easier to do if we get our own ID), patrols, counterpiracy, etc. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - DarthBindo - 08-29-2013 (08-29-2013, 07:35 AM)Thexare Wrote: If nothing else, we're hoping it'll get some nearby military people to show up; as much as it may not make perfect sense in-RP for us to be in direct confrontation with them, we genuinely want to stir up activity in the quieter regions of Sirius. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Kazinsal - 08-29-2013 Nope. NO- is an open tag -- it would be totally unfair to have an open tag count towards our activity. RE: Vagrant Raiders (VR-) - Bootsiuv - 08-29-2013 Hmmm...after some discussion, I've come to this conclusion. I think it would be best if you lost the pirating clause altogether. Your either a mini-house now nestled tightly between several larger houses that are militarily stronger, or your a semi, quasi, sort of lawful faction that will ALWAYS be looked on in suspicion. If your known to pirate in the border worlds, I don't think they'll ever nestle up to you as tightly as you would like. It's a thought. It may completely alter your gameplay and rp to the point where it doesn't make sense, but it's just too much right now. Showing self-restraint will make those able to grant an id more inclined to believe you'll show discipline when you receive things. Don't take the wrong way, Kaz. I'm rooting for you guys, just trying to make this a little more rp sensical. VR should ditch their old ways if they want to be considered amongst the lawful nations of sirius. |
