Fairplay vs Roleplay - varoshanin - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:Agreed. you forgot to say SOLARIS dreads !! i say fair play in a first place than a RP, because those two make this game interesting for everyone ... Fairplay vs Roleplay - SMGSterlin - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:of course if they chose first option Navy will pursue them out of the system because as much as it breaks server rules most pirates tend to turn around and continue pirating as soon as Navy ships are out of their radar range. That rule was removed. It's perfectly fine to stay in the system and keep pirating people if you evade the lawfuls after you, as long as they don't see you dock, or blow you up of course. All the more reason for lawfuls to chase pirates ass all the way to JH or base. Fairplay vs Roleplay - CzeReptile - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:Funny how nobody thinks pirating in superior ship than transport is not fair. I do. Whole concept of piracy is wrong here. My 2 cents. Too bad its pointless to pirate for cargo and also that people dont haul stuff that pirates might be desperate to have. Really, what would you do with endless stocks of boron, gold, deuterium and niobium ore? Set up a foundry? ' Wrote:Situation 1 (Fairplay): Agreed. Too bad you cannot arrest them, and personally, id engage them 5v2. PIRATES are PIRATES, criminals, they know the risks, whats the point of offering a murderer fair play in combat. Tsk, gank to oblivion. They shouldve known better before going criminal. Oh and yes, its inRP and common sense. ' Wrote:Have you ever seen pirates fliying LFs? 1st - I did, like once. Didnt last long enough even against me, but thats not the point. Everybody flies whats OP, thus Sabre. 2nd - yes thats the scenario and I agree with your fair play definition. Pirates just go "payordai", claiming roleplay, groups, escorts and other bullbutt. Id rather see pirates in that little freighters, asking for cargo so they can keep their group running, not GBs ossimely asking for insane amounts of cash, waiting for Navy to appear so they can prey on new players in LN tagged vessels. Fairplay, 0.0 and such come to mind. Sadly, its only my mind to think about these. Fairplay vs Roleplay - Knjaz - 09-05-2011 Well, didn't read all pages due to lack of time, but I'll throw my 2 capwhorish cents in. When we'll get a system that will be able to measure not just ship equipment and numbers, but also skills, ping and other factors affecting the battle, both in-game and ooc/out-game ones, (but player skill comes first), then I'll, maybe, vote for the fairplay. Until then, it all sounds like "get your snub here so I can kill you cause Im better then you in snubfights". My answer? "Bring the capship yourself, Im better in them!" From personal experience: I'd rather fight against 5-8 ranseurs, then 10-14 sabres. It's way easier and also more entertaining. As for superior number, better equipment, etc. Holding off your numbers nullifies the recruitment work you or your faction has done. Holding off higher class ships/better equipment nullifies the effect from tens/hundreds of RL hours spent on trading/mining. Last but not least - chose your targets accordingly. When I went on my RNS against a CR, I totally knew what to expect and was enjoying that. Don't expect the adversary to act like _you want_. Adapt and survive. Then you'll have tons of fun in this game. P.S. oh damn, I didn't notice the first post date ^^ Fairplay vs Roleplay - elrica - 09-05-2011 Fairplay, There are however, certain situations where RP takes precedent.Like those incidents where a lone pirate is pirating 3k from Manhattan or something equally retarded. In those situations It'd be silly to fight that person 1on1, I'd expect all of Manhattan's reserves to be sent after him. I think there is a major problem with people who whine in-game about fairplay however. I was in a pewpew fight yesterday. Long story short, I sat out to even the numbers out. Somebody with the same ID as us started feeding botts to his enemy (the guys we were shooting) and calling us jerks for "ganking"even though the enemy attacked us. He, no word of a lie, would not shut up. Followed up by a bunch of profanity from him when I tried to apologise in case I had upset anyone. If you feel a fight is unfair, a single comment oorp (trying to be as unsnide as possible) should be enough. Most people will oblige. EDIT: Holy batman.....grave-dig !?:P Fairplay vs Roleplay - CzeReptile - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:Last but not least - chose your targets accordingly. Fairplay vs Roleplay - dodike - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:PvP ends with a losing party. This pretty much sums it up. Fairplay vs Roleplay - Jeremy Hunter - 09-05-2011 ' Wrote:Fairplay and roleplay are bound together. Roleplay without fairplay is just powerplay, and that's wrong. First page. Says alot. ' Wrote:Funny how it touches on an issue unresolved three years later. Inorite ' Wrote:But 7 turtles and 5 cruisers are OK vs 5 dreads, 1 LABC and 1 LSC right. Hence why I docked my LSC at Westfalen. And... It was 10 RMBS two cruisers assorted bombers vs LABC LSC and maybe 7-8 dreads, but doesnt matter. Still was insane. I choose fairplay over roleplay, because not only do I not want to end up ganking friends, but I don't want people to never have a victory. Everyone deserves to win and have fun here. Not having fairplay and giving people the chance to win is just wrong. Monty knows I try, SeaFalcon, Soul Reaper aka Master Ganker knows I do my best to try and avoid such situations. It ruins fun. Fairplay > RP imo, and I stand by that. But if its Sina, Mark, Ench, etc, its perfectly acceptable to throw 10 fighters at them. (sun) Fairplay vs Roleplay - Tachyon - 09-05-2011 Fairplay, no fun without fairplay, regardless of all the other shiny things to offer. |
