You sure about that, Linkus? In the past, we have had bounties put on individual Zoner ships and the BHG took interest in it.

Simply deny them access to Freeports if they do.
The Zoners should do more to enforce their laws and their restrictions. If someone annoys you, don't let em near your bases. Simple. It has been seen in the past that certain players have been so hostile to their own parent factions that they are rep hacked by the Admins.
Aka, BH constantly attacks Zoners and is seen then to be docking on Freeports. That would be considered very very OORP and either sanctionable or the Admins would do a little minor work on his repsheet anyway.

I saw a massive response to the Privateers yesterday. They were utterly hammered on by so many vessels. Corsairs, Bounty Hunters, Zoners, Mollys.
The Zoners have influence and friends. People do need the freeports and they will defend them if it is in their interest. Typically, nowadays, it is.

Added your thing, Ktayn. The eh, canon-based suggestion. Just thought I should give you the heads up that I hadn't ignored you.

Continue discussion.

We do actually forbid NFZ violators and Zoner killers from our freeports if they stand differently than pirates eg. Ghost.ships, keepers, and now QCP, the problem is we have too much ground to cover which means some slip through the net.

Another point, Linkus. Not so much Bounties against Zoners but Bounties themselves and why they are placed. They are placed because an individual did wrong against them, often a trader, who can't fight back in a transport so, they place a bounty on that person.

Now IF, say, a group of Corsairs went on a raid against the Battleship Essex in Dublin and a Zoner bomber assisted, then THAT Zoner has a bounty placed on him. That is RP, not just a blanket bounty for no reason.
Many a Zoner transport has been caught hauling contraband in house space with a subsequent complaint to the Council on it. Council response is simple, if he is stupid enough to get caught then he is subject to house law. The Council won't defend them nor would they defend a Zoner ship working with raiders somewhere.

A blanket bounty without good reason does little more than create more tension and debate. Zoners have many neighbors who are on both sides of the law and they live in relative peace with them. Why? Because they approach things with some diplomacy whereas others start shooting on sight. Use the latter approach and you will bring more trouble upon yourself than anything.

Zoners harbour organised criminals and murderers, and this is their foreign policy as a faction. That offends people, so they get a blanket bounty, it seems.

*sigh* . . .
Where is Hoodlum when you need him the most ? ? ? ? . . . .

If you'd take a closer look, we don't 'harbor' them.

We allow them to resupply/chill for however long. We get paid this way. If anybody starts causing trouble inside or around the Freeport, we kick them out. Harboring implies purposefully protecting in one way or another, what we do is what any hotel does. We allow anyone to come in at face value, but if they give us reason, we expel them from our jurisdiction.

I think even the blanket bounties are silly, not the bounties themselves but the expectation that someone will properly fulfil them.

I mean, I'd say plenty of people would pay to see some Zoners dead. But only an idiot would actually do it. That's both InRP and OORP wise.

I think this bounty business has been blown wayyyyy out of proportion to be fair.
