I know the historical facts - I'm speaking on the game itself. They have IS-3, IS-4 and IS-7 in the game; their designs are vastly superior to what was done during the war...

Where people fail with Tiger,and Tiger-II's is they give rear,and side armour. They were made for assault,and there fore all armour infront. Turn your rear,and sides to enemy,and you deserve death. My M6 killed many tiger's 1 on1 with 90MM,cause they rotated turret,and let me get on rear. Is are same.Uber front armour,but weak on sides,rear. 1 HE does wonders to blow off tracks,and kill crew's.
I myself like alot of the meds over heavies.

I snipe IS tanks and the rounds always bounce off. But when they shoot me even from the front, it seems to always penetrate.

Heavy tanks are pointless for blitz-krieg, which is the only way of fighting for me:)See lots of people using them as artillery and that's even more stupid. They should be used in formation as a support for line penetrations with other, lighter tanks.
Medium is my class. Lot of punch but also enough of agility for hit and run or breaking formations, which is really fun once you manage to achieve that.
Panther II is my goal. Really looks mean on the battlefield. And it's fast and deadly.

Assault with a heavy exposes its flanks and back big time. Especially on WoT maps which usually have 3 fronts, left, center, right, and you move slowly, always someone from another front taking opportunity snipe shot at you.
