4.81 Main Features - Kane - 09-19-2006 Yeah, but the Osiris has been used so much it's like beating a dead horse. It's not exactly "One of a kind" anymore. Where-as the Battlestar isn't used much, and is instantly recognizable. It's neither the largest, the most powerful, or has the most armor, but because of all that it's fairly unique. So, I might just stick with the Battlestar (Would use the Advanced version, but Wolf has said that was supposed to be fairly specific to the Bs|, so I left it alone). 4.81 Main Features - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-19-2006 The Osiris, along with the Outcast Dreadnought and the Hacker Spyglass are the only true Pirate Battleships though. Then again, Terrorists normally just take what they need for the job in hand. I'm being traditional ... Freelancer ship. Hoodlum 4.81 Main Features - Wolfpack98 - 09-19-2006 I hate the outcast Dreadnought. And why in the blue hell do you pirates *STILL* think you must have a battleship to pirate? I do believe the server rules say if you're gonna pirate, stick to cruiser or lower ??? 4.81 Main Features - Igiss - 09-19-2006 If you are going to pirate by taking money off other's trains, you are limited to gunboat or lower. If piracy means attacking military targets, you are free to choose any ship. And I don't see why battleships should be limited by faction - there might be some rules of course, but not essentially... if an independent player wishes to buy a House battleship or Battlestar Advanced, let him do so. 4.81 Main Features - seanstakes - 09-19-2006 marauder,Sep 18 2006, 07:42 PM Wrote:Everyone won't be buying just capships, try taking a Bstar, rhienland Bs, Outcast dreadnought, kusari BS through the gamma asteroid field. Maybe OOC I agree, i have many Cap Ships BUT I never take them through dense asteroid fields UNLESS I Cant Avoid IT. I stopped risking it when i got a Zoner Jugganaut Inrevisibly Stuck In Omicron Theta In The Napo Cloud in my own server. END OOC Oh Well.........Destructable Asteroids Would Be Nice.........Maybe Putting A Buoy(s) in high asteroid areas that can show big ships to their locations? like the Buoys in Sigma-17 which show the way to Kurile. 4.81 Main Features - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-19-2006 Havn't we just done the no to destructable asteroids ?? To much involved. The idea is that a Battleship should not be the easiest thing to move around, and that if you want to, you have to think about doing it ... Otherwise they will move round like fighters, and we are back to square one, with everyone having a capship again. Lets make it all really easy shall we. Jeez ... Hoodlum  4.81 Main Features - Kane - 09-19-2006 Hem, DarkStar isn't a pirate. There is a small but noticeable difference between a pirate and a terrorist; The Pirate will ask for your stuff, and then blow you up. The Terrorist just blows you up, possibly picking over whats left if he/she feels like it. :P 4.81 Main Features - Dab - 09-19-2006 I have one question for Igiss. Say two factions are at war. We will use RM and AW for example. Can AW battleships attack RM trains? Since its not piracy, but for the goal to stop the enemy's income. 4.81 Main Features - marauder - 09-19-2006 Kane,Sep 19 2006, 02:48 AM Wrote:Yeah, but the Osiris has been used so much it's like beating a dead horse. It's not exactly "One of a kind" anymore. That might because a pair of them with phantom tags kept nuking stuff left and right... :$ @Igiss: There is no limit, but RP wise there are very few BS's to choose from. Like hoodlum said, those are the only ships developed, built used solely by pirate groups. The corsairs seem to have more osiris's flying around then the order does. @wolf: I never try to pirate in anything bigger then a fighter, I use my phantom BS to deter/destroy traders on their trade runs. Plus several times recently I've been yelled at by newbies for attacking them, mostly cos they didn't bother reading the forums before playing and didn't bother checking peoples IDs. @Dab: To me that would be terrorism, but it's up to the admins and igiss to decide. 4.81 Main Features - Dab - 09-19-2006 Well when countries are at war it can seem to be terrorism when they fight. I think if the goal is to destroy a faction's trade that you are at war with it should be allowed. But only if you are at war. Pirate factions cannot be at war according to server rules I think. |
