Opinions have been noted, in case anyone else wants to voice their opinion feel free to reach out, but I think it's reasonable to start talks with the zoners and reach out to manufacturers regarding the Bustard. I favor it due to its versatility and hangar capacities. Does one of you have experiences with the Renzu Company? They seem to offer refitting services that cater to our needs.

On a second note, are there any specific modules or additions we would need to make the Bustard worth its cost?

Reach out to the Zoners yes. Let's see what they have. For the Renzu Company: I've also had their Spam in my Inbox. No idea, personally.
I'd at least give it a shot, it's also one of few who actually offers an array of services along with a license.

For the Modules:
• A decent Shield
• minimum one hangar for smaller crafts
• At least a bare minimum of crew quarters and a cargo bay that can shield the crew from whatever is in there.
(Note: We never know what we might pick-up or find while charting and similar. Better be safe.)
• A beacon
• A Kishiro Scanner Array minimum
• A JD II for itself would be beneficial or higher
(Note: JD II while only offering travel for one ship is the fastest to get around, it also consumes a lot less power than a Series IV)

That is all that comes to mind for me right now.

Good evening everyone.

I've reached out to Phoenix for the acquisition of a Q-ship, but they've not responded yet. It's my first time doing something like that, so maybe my tone was a little too direct, eh? Anyways.

Regarding the Bustard, my idea would be to make an announcement for contractors all across Sirius to see who'd like to work on the project with us. If it doesn't lead anywhere, I might try to reach out to shipyards directly. I'd say competition fuels the economy, so why not see who makes us a good offer?

I'm also ready to initiate talks with the Renzu Company, but I'd like to know how big of a contract we're aiming for, and especially which services are required first.

That's all for now, stay safe out there.

Don't worry, they will respond. Probably just have their hands full with the "Omicron-mess".

The idea to see who gives the best offer - I kinda like it. Maybe it will offer new contacts even.

In regards to the Bustard and Renzu: For now I suggest the "Refit service".
Regardless the shape the vessel will be in, used, hulk or new it will need internal and external adjustments to be able to get our "Starflier Treatment".
Additionally I would also throw in an engine refit to have it be able to eat throw all kinds of fuel, just to be save. A mobile base getting stuck far off the beaten path just because there is no clean H-Fuel around any more would be embarrassing.

That is my feedback.

Thank you for your feedback, Vanesca!

I'll most likely get into talks with the Renzu Company in the following days, for now though: Great news, we've received a reply from a ship construction company, Blue Mackerel Industries.
They seem to be on board with the project, but it would be their first time building a "Bustard"-class. In my mind they're a decent option as long as quality control works closely with us during every step of its construction. With the kind of modules we'd want for it, it would be a unique project for almost any of the shipyards out there. One problem persists though: Given that they're based in Kusari, they suffer from an intense shortage of superstructure parts. Do we have any contacts that we could forward them to?

I'll leave the offer open for a while longer, just to see if we get more responses. How are things going for you?

Not that I am aware of. McKenzie may have something we are not aware of but I personally don't have ties to ship builders. And for Starfliers I do not think we have anything in that department considering we're researchers. A suggestion can be reaching out to DSE as they build things too but that is all I can think of.

To: Nataly Pearsall

I have seen your open broadcast to all shipbuilders. It is good that you are willing to communicate with other organizations regarding your future "Bustard"-Class. Getting our name out there has always been Leon's first goal.

I would recommend getting Deep Space Engineer's attention on the matter, as they were both instrumental and significantly involved with our own "Vector"-Class exploration vessel. Specifically, I'd advise to contact George E. Rolf. I worked with them directly on that particular project.

As for the Renzu Company, I am particularly interested in their services. For any overhauls or refits our vessels require, they would be most appropriate to organize this. However despite their access to a shipyard they do not offer construction services. Perhaps their services are constricted by their parent company. Hard to say.

Though, once you have acquired a Civilian Liner, going to Renzu would be your best option. You may need to acquire permission from the Kusari Government to legally fly the ship there. I can only assume The Renzu Company would refuse to work on a ship that's not formally licensed in Kusari space.

After a long transit from Baden Baden, we arrived in Tau-23 via the Tau-31 Jump Gate. Our travels to and from Gallia to carry passengers gained us enough funds to refuel and travel out this far. As we were flying out to the Anomaly field, we bumped into a local IMG pilot, who took their time to have a talk with us about the Starfliers coming to the Taus. They also informed us about the local Royalists group to which I am unfamiliar with.

We hope that after our administration tasks are done, we can setup an observation platform within the Anomaly field next to the decaying base belonging to the late SLRC group. Wherever they are now, I hope they are still doing good work.

[28.05.2025 09:52:12] IMG|Katar: Good to see you too.
[28.05.2025 09:52:32] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Welcome to the Sol, the asset we informed you about.
[28.05.2025 09:52:54] IMG|Katar: And I will say welcome to Tau-23.
[28.05.2025 09:53:19] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: We indeed feel welcomed.
[28.05.2025 09:53:45] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: This is more a formality than anything else.
[28.05.2025 09:53:57] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: If you wish to ask us further about our interest here.
[28.05.2025 09:54:27] IMG|Katar: The Guildmaster told us about your ship and I gotta say it is more impressive then I imagined.
[28.05.2025 09:55:13] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: This Liner has gone through several significant changes to acommodate our needs.
[28.05.2025 09:55:53] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: It's current config allows for easier mobility.
[28.05.2025 09:55:59] IMG|Katar: Still impressive work.
[28.05.2025 09:56:06] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Indeed.
[28.05.2025 09:56:31] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Once we find a suitable position, you will find it holding position in a more permanent manner.
[28.05.2025 09:57:34] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: That is, if the outskirts are safe enough?
[28.05.2025 09:58:00] IMG|Katar: Hope your shields are up to task as the rocks tend to fly into stationary objects.
[28.05.2025 09:58:32] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Already taken care of. Power that would run to weapon circuits have been diverted to defenses.
[28.05.2025 09:59:22] IMG|Katar: The rads aren't that dangerous like in the Omegas but it won't hurt to have pills against long lasting effects.
[28.05.2025 10:00:10] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Hmm, our history with radiation has educated us on this.
[28.05.2025 10:00:32] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Have your teams got rounds of these pills?
[28.05.2025 10:01:20] Tip: You can send cash to nearby players without needing to type their name by selecting their ship and using /givecasht or /gct command.
[28.05.2025 10:01:32] IMG|Katar: We advise pilots and ship crews to have a few on themselves at all times but most of them are at Java.
[28.05.2025 10:02:02] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: A short trip with a few asteroids between. This is good.
[28.05.2025 10:02:30] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: As you knoww, somewhere ahead of us is where we intend to stay.
[28.05.2025 10:02:46] IMG|Katar: Also a warning about a near by system named Orkney. It is a calm graveyard most of the time but you might find one of the -
[28.05.2025 10:04:17] IMG|Katar: - Locals they tend to be unagressive but it pays to be cautious.
[28.05.2025 10:04:30] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Graveyard? I have no intention of disturbing the site.
[28.05.2025 10:04:44] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: But I do appreciate the extra information.
[28.05.2025 10:05:12] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: These anomalies are constantly blinking in and out of existence.
[28.05.2025 10:05:27] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: What a sight...
[28.05.2025 10:05:49] IMG|Katar: Yea a lot of wreck from the Gallic civil war with some newer ones from the Royalist.
[28.05.2025 10:06:29] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Forgive me, Royalists? I am not familiar with them.
[28.05.2025 10:06:33] IMG|Katar: I myself seldom come here.
[28.05.2025 10:07:09] IMG|Katar: They are mostly mad men who still fight for the Gallic crown.
[28.05.2025 10:07:23] IMG|Katar: Not the most stable of people.
[28.05.2025 10:07:44] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Noted.
[28.05.2025 10:08:32] IMG|Katar: They tend to target Bretonian and Kusari ships mostly.
[28.05.2025 10:08:52] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Hmm, appears we don't fit their target profile.
[28.05.2025 10:08:59] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Some good news, then.
[28.05.2025 10:10:00] IMG|Katar: Yup just avoid talking about those houses while they are near, or their failure.
[28.05.2025 10:10:21] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Any further advice if I encounter one?
[28.05.2025 10:10:56] IMG|Katar: Act like you are talking to a navy pilot they like that feeling.
[28.05.2025 10:11:20] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Interesting. That's been recorded.
[28.05.2025 10:11:53] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: We'll moor with Java for the time being while we do our final surveying checks.
[28.05.2025 10:12:18] IMG|Katar: Well then let me show you the way to Java.
[28.05.2025 10:12:32] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Thank you.
[28.05.2025 10:13:14] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: If our other tasks aren't completed, we may remain in Inverness.
[28.05.2025 10:13:38] IMG|Katar: There are some pathways through the feild though none to your future location.
[28.05.2025 10:13:56] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Yes, this is why we're taking it slow.
[28.05.2025 10:14:20] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: A Freelancer described this ship as a "glass cannon" for research.
[28.05.2025 10:14:24] IMG|Katar: There is one from the hole to Tau-37
[28.05.2025 10:14:46] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Yes, I barely get a visual on my right.
[28.05.2025 10:15:39] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Some relief.
[28.05.2025 10:15:52] IMG|Katar: This is the path in question.
[28.05.2025 10:16:01] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: The corridor, yes.
[28.05.2025 10:17:05] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: The Medium Green is quite the sight.
[28.05.2025 10:18:05] IMG|Katar: I got qute used to it so the charm is kinda gone.
[28.05.2025 10:18:42] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Started within Kepler, become familiar with the suns in Inverness.
[28.05.2025 10:18:51] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: This is a sight within itself.
[28.05.2025 10:20:01] IMG|Katar: Yea the other part of this system is marked by scars from the Gallic Kusari war.
[28.05.2025 10:20:21] IMG|Katar: Mostly wreck of stations and trade lines.
[28.05.2025 10:20:44] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: We're aware. My best scout has made a note of them in our charts.
[28.05.2025 10:21:01] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: We're here.
[28.05.2025 10:21:27] IMG|Katar: Wellcome to Java.
[28.05.2025 10:22:00] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Which mooring point is best for our Liner?
[28.05.2025 10:22:49] IMG|Katar: The outer one is made for Gallic ships so the second one is more suited.
[28.05.2025 10:23:00] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Understood.
[28.05.2025 10:23:22] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: We'll make contact with you once our move is successfully completed.
[28.05.2025 10:23:50] IMG|Katar: It was a pleasure Alber.
[28.05.2025 10:23:54] '\S/'SRV-Sol: Albert: Godspeed.
[28.05.2025 10:23:56] IMG|Katar: Have a good day.

That's great to hear. I'm a bit busy with our projects at the moment, but I'll try to make my way there eventually.

Gonna reach out to DSE in a bit and see if I can find a contact for BMI.
Oh, and leave me some of that champagne.
