I would like you, sir, to explain to the audience here exactly HOW increasing fighter weapon projectile speed affects the balance of, say, fighter versus cap or fighter versus transport? Are you telling me that transports and capital class ships can dodge fighter guns at their current speed :crazy: I put it to you, sir, that unless the fighter pilot is of a very low caliber, that he/she will have no trouble at all hitting a transport or capital class ship with his guns at their current speed. It would unbalance things to increase projectile speed - ship dodging abilities would have to be reworked. bombers (discussion only) - Grimly - 09-02-2009 My 2 cents : Battleship : They are fine as they are now. Just their use is not understood by all. They are meant to be using elite weapons that the solaris are ! Against other caps, they should be using a kind of super weapon (mortar) or call for bomber support (that's THEIR job) Primary turrets should not really exists, we don't see battlecruisers pwn each other in Starwars, maybe targeting specific parts such as radar, maneuver bridge, weapon systems. Destroyers : They need really more fire power. They are meant to kill big targets such as stations, so give them a damn bigger gun ! Gunboat : The hard thing to balance. I'd say they are already well balanced, all weapons fit their role well but while some can't get hit by a bomber craft (BHG GS), some others are really good targets (Corsair GB, Rogue GB) I'd say we need more the gunships than the gunboats. Bombers : DO NOT TOUCH THEM ! I've seen one idea about class 10 only guns and class 9 faster but I'll give my opinion later on it. Very Heavy Fighters : DO NOT TOUCH THEM ! Just make them use a razor and get close to their target before firing. Heavy Fighters : They need a few more hull, at least to resist a nuke + collision. Lower the nuke mine damages is also an option to avoid hull change on that fighters. Light Fighters : ====> Remove that damned torpedo from this Loki ! <==== Now I come to faster guns... My opinion was to give the light fighter the speed they deserve not only on maneuvering but on weapons as well. We can't hide it, to be efficient, a LF need class 8 guns and that's that guns I'd like to see faster (1000m/s) instead of class 9 ones. They deal not enough damages for a VHF/Bomber pilot can mind use them so it will really fit the light fighters only, only the eagle/sabre will have to be "nerfed" to class 9 and 10 only since they are the ships that don't have heavy powercore, enough to make someone take class 8 guns. HFs could use them as well I'd say, they are done to be faster isn't it ?
