My bests, imo:
Best LF: Void runner (terrible)
Best HF: Gladiator (best pirating Fighter)
Best VHF: Titan (in short, the one)
Best SHF: none, they are equally ugly
Best Bomber: Orchid (girls r dangerous)
Best Freighter: Correo (armor, armor)
Best Transport: Heron train (very economic.)
Best Gunboat: the one Maximus flies, ask him.
Best Cruiser: Praefect (I thought its name was Perfect)
Best Battleship: Osiris (cheap but powerful)
Best Carrier: the one that can spam Fs, sadly, none

Best VHF: The Anubis. Can you find better value for money anywhere? Eh. Still horrible though.
Best SHF: Mafic.
Best Bomber: Broadsword
Best Freighter: Difficult one. Either the Grizzly, Aurochs or Anki. Or the Mule. No idea, really - I like most freighters.
Best Transport: Akegata. I've killed a dozen or so pirates on this in the time I've had it (two years?). Brilliant ship.
Best Gunboat: The Storm or the LH gunship.
Best Cruiser: 4.86 LABC
Best Battleship: Spyglass
