Battlefield 3 - Loken - 09-30-2011 ' Wrote:Progress =/= unable to use half of my drivers and Photoshop plug-ins because of incompatibility. That really isn't a true story, 32 bit programs run just fine on 64 bit operating systems. Of course, it won't be progress and people won't start making the majority of programs exclusively for 64 bit systems until people stop clinging onto 32 bit and screaming about how change is scary. On topic: Trying to download the beta, but Origin keeps randomly jumping back to a lower percentage when it's almost done. Battlefield 3 - BaconSoda - 09-30-2011 Played the Beta a little bit more and starting is hard. It's not any harder than any other shooter, but I think a lot of people playing and complaining expected something similar to another game and decided that it was similar to something else they didn't like or don't understand what BF 2 was really like. Medal of Honor is the phrase being used now. But here's what I think... Movement is more tactical. Bullets do less damage with less accuracy (somehow), but unlike games like Bad Company 2, you can't just kind of run straight up the center of the map and arm 2 MCOMs like a shady oriental. Suppression is awesome. That's what facilitates movement. If you can suppress the guys shooting your guys, you can move. I guess when people played Medal of Honor there was a lot of teamwork. Suppression also kicks the crap out of "Snipers." There are a lot more Recon from what I have seen than snipers. That's probably because you can't really aim while being tree cancer and getting shot at anymore. That's pretty excellent. Once again, teamwork. Bipods. Oh god bipods. That's the single best idea in the whole game. As a defender, bipods are the best, and as an attacker, bipods are the best. Need to light someone up? No problem, no recoil! Need to suppress that hill? No problem, no recoil! Need to kill that Sniper all the way over by that tree with a flashlight behind it? No problem, no recoil! Need to move? Well that won't end well until you have someone to cover you. Teamwork! Definitely a different Battlefield but still a very fun game. Also my ATI 5770 is below par and I think that there is little reason for this. I think that the game is unnecessarily taxing and inefficient. Hopefully this is different on release. Battlefield 3 - Pingu! - 09-30-2011 Game 10/10 - yeah, it's beta, but it's awsome game, but sadly there are few bugs left. Battlelog - 0/10 - I just dislike it very much, I hope there'll be option to join servers from game when full game comes out EA/Origin's support: -100 / 10 - they just suck. After one hour, of me telling guy at support how I paid game through paypal, because in origin purchase history there still was Order Pending Payment, when my €50 were gone, idiot asked me "Have you created paypal account?". :@ Battlefield 3 - FraserTE - 09-30-2011 Last 32 bit OS i used was Xp i upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I don't see the issue. Just a tad bit harder to use but so many more features. People who are computer illiterate and just don't like change may not want to go 64bit but that's about it I used Xp because i did not have a system powerful enough to suppose windows 7 till i built my own. Battlefield 3 - r3vange - 09-30-2011 Photoshop does dab up when used on 64 though Battlefield 3 - BaconSoda - 09-30-2011 ' Wrote:Game 10/10 - yeah, it's beta, but it's awsome game, but sadly there are few bugs left. They're also stupid in positive ways, though. Origin's refund page was down and my brother wanted to cancel his preorder with Origin. He went to ask support and they refunded his money. He still has the preorder on his account. Free game, anyone? Also, yes, Battlelog is a little silly, but I'm liking inserting whole parties into a server. That's nice. If only we would get in the same squad, now, it'd be excellent.:P And on a complete side note, one thing about OSes is that if you go to a store and buy a box with an OS in it, it will be a 32 bit OS. Retail OSes are all 32 bit. No retailer (at least in Detroit) sells a 64 bit operating system. This is kind of a pain if you want to buy a box with your OS in it instead of buying it online, like I like to do. If the industry would like to upgrade to 64 bit, packaging them for retail would be a good start. Thing I hate most with Battlelog is refresing servers... Kinda sucks, server that's 17/32, will full for next 10 seconds. And yeah, not being able to choose squad is kinda stupid:P |
