DarkWing - faction feedback - Reverend Del - 10-27-2008 Engaging target isn't enough any more. It ruins the fun for so many folks, get creative and stick it in your pre-sets. I have three separate ones on each character just for opening fire, some of them have more. @Eppy, nice spot. but I think the intent was clear even if the words were daft. DarkWing - faction feedback - Raekur - 10-27-2008 Ok, I will put it this way. Just how much Rp would you expect from a hunter and his prey? So far the impression I get about what Hunters are is nothing more the money hungry bottom feeders. They do not care about human life or rights beyond what is going to earn them a few more credits. I have already encountered several smugglers who thought for some stupid reason that they could bribe me to look the other way. I could understand that if I was a Merc but come on. Would a BH actually do that, I dont think so. If I am wrong then the history and role of a BH here is a very odd one. Perhaps to avoid the confusion there should be an area listing the basic RP that is expected from each faction. Otherwise we wind up where we are at currently with people who are NOT BH trying to tell BH how to play their role. Without any actual written guidelines then the only ones that should dictacte what BH do are BH and the admins. I understand there being a desire to have something said, but i also understand that sometimes there is nothing that a hunter wants to say to his prey because he could care less about what the target has to say. Going into a long drawn out conversation would be OORP for the hunter. Since it would allow more time for the prey to call in reinforcements. Well, bounty hunter is out for bounties. so if the smuggler offers you more then the price on his head, the hunter might take the smugglers credits and then say he killed them, and get more credits. i do beleive the meger bounty by liberty navy would be upped by a smuggler who'd pay more to save his life. Again. Not all players who have smugglers play oorp. If i incountered you with my smuggler i would try to save my crews life then you kill me because of my cargo. Witch your members then tractor in after i'm dead. to possibly sell DarkWing - faction feedback - Orin - 10-28-2008 Quote:sometimes there is nothing that a hunter wants to say to his prey because he could care less about what the target has to say.By the same reasoning, an Air Force assault squadron doesn't banter with their targets. What happens when a Liberty Naval group follows that ethic? They get sanctioned for attacking without a word. This is a game. It's an RP server, but there are certain rules that have to be followed. Whether they follow perfect BH RP or not. You simply cannot attack without a word, and just saying "engage target" is rediculous in my eyes, and has been sanctioned for before. You're not being asked to discuss BH politics with your prey. Something along the lines of: "Blasted pirates, prepare yourselves!" would be great! Have fun with it, mix it up. It's really not that difficult. I'm not telling you how to RP a BH. I'm telling you to RP. Because I've seen loads of DWs attack without even an "engage target". What you guys are doing right now just isn't working. This is a feedback thread. I'm giving you feedback that your members aren't RPing. What do you really want here? Tell me. If this is your view of bouny hunter, you sir should try to play something else. 1. Hunter? Prey? Sorry, no pass, we are all humans. 2. Hungry bottom feeders? No, only pilots who use skills to get money for life. For instance, one xeno pilot has bounty of at least 800 credits on his head(price of pilot comodity) and 800 credits is 2 class 1 guns. That doesnt seem like starving to me. 3. True, but that does not make you bloody harvester. Or do you see all pilots as bloodthirsty ravaging sociopaths who live only to kill? 4. So... if thug attacked you in dark alley, and there is no help coming. You have knife, he has assault rifle. Would you give him money? Or would you fight, or maybe try to flee? 5. Difference between merc and hunter is... Hunters are mercs who work for guild. Thats all. Also, is you are allready hungry for money, like you stated before, doesnt smugglers bribe of 2-3 milions sund better than 150k from authority? Again, we are all humans and everything has its price. DarkWing - faction feedback - Serpentis - 10-28-2008 The interaction I personaly have had from the DW is as following: DW1: "Lol did you see that?:P" DW2: "rofl do its again xD" ME: "//refrain from using smileys and OORP in system please" DW1&2: "wth? We do what we want...:P:P:P" This is almost identical to the conversation I had with some of the DW in O-15. Naaah... This doesnt fly at all with me, and ignoring the fact that everyone else seams to dislike you; well, I dont dont have anything good to say. Start Rping and less pvping. Edit: And yes I have screens of the conversation DarkWing - faction feedback - Raekur - 10-28-2008 ok so if BH, Merc, and Freelancers are the same why the different ID's. In my view BH are part of the law enforcement side. Accepting bribes or other criminal acts would get that pilot ejected out of the guild without so much as a second thought. BH do not work for the highest bidder otherwise they are no better then the ones they are hunting. If this is not true then might as well merge all 3 of these ID's into 1 and just create a generic RP to cover all 3. If there is no difference, then there is no reason for multiples of the same thing. Serpentis, Please send me those screenshots. DarkWing - faction feedback - Orin - 10-28-2008 Well, a bribe ain't a criminal act per se. It's a shady one, sure, but totally plausible for BH in my eyes. I guess that's sort of up to you though. You should decide on that stance in accordance with your status. DarkWing - faction feedback - Bjorn - 10-28-2008 They are same. ID is here only to dictate exact role of what you are playing. Hunters are NOT part of law enforcement, but they are rather armed ex criminals who hunt down their past allies because its more profitable than piracy. And bribes... You would report your boss you got bribe? Of course not. Taking bribe is private between one giving bribe, and one recieving it. Its used so you do not have to shoot 5 people just because they are earning for living. Part of, you know logic, because humans do not shoot each other without cause. DarkWing - faction feedback - bluntpencil2001 - 10-28-2008 Yes, getting caught taking bribes would get them ejected... So don't get caught. |
